Now, I have this lovely Jingles commander sitting around, and I wonder which ship(s) I should put him on?

There are :

  • Warspite / Queen Elizabeth - which would be most fitting considering the length of their service.
  • King George V / Duke of York  / Nelson - more prem ships mean XP faster, which always a good thing!
  • Monarch, which I got a perma camo for ... a ship equally crap as it's commader  (can't turn, can't shoot straigth, can't tank ...)

Really need some help with this decision, and whould like to hear your opinions, why he should go where?

PS: Merry Christmas !

Put him on CVs because they have more fitting names.

Furious Jingles or Implacable Jingles sounds funny.

I'll use him in upcoming RN CA. I've trained him from elite commander exp and he's now a 19 pointer :Smile_trollface:

Switch voiceover to Jingles if you want some giggles as for Jingels himself not really relevant, put him where you need a captain...

The option "pull him out" sounds way too funny to ignore. Yes, I'm being infantile atm. No, I don't care. We're talking about Jingles, after all :cap_haloween:

My Doctor assured me that I don't have Celebrity Worship Syndrome, minor celebrity's in the jungle or wannabe celebs loving it up on islands or in houses go whoosh over my head, so in keeping I have no particular plans for him. In fact without opening up the game I couldn't tell you whether he's in a low tier ship or the Reserve but to be honest given this thread has reminded me I suppose I should dismiss him.

In honour of his meritorious service I've put Jingles in command of the crappiest CV I could find - The Mighty Implacable. Here it doesn't really matter what he identifies, the planes are to slow to get there anyways :P

Same here. As RN CAs don't need EM and I could live without not having improved JoAT on them, both skills improved by Dukirk brothers, Jingles would be decent RN CAs captain.

I was really short on RN captains, so he got promoted to commanding Edinburgh after Mr. Dunkirk got command of Minotaur. I like Jingles, but his 'special skill' as a captain is annoying and counterproductive. There's some fun miss-identifying an enemy ship that I just sunk as a 'friendly cruiser' but there's a completely different thing in miss-reporting a new spotted ship. I tend to pay attention to such announcements and I don't want to check the map every time to see if the new enemy contact is really a BB in the other corner, or a DD within torpedo distance of my ship.

Also, they could have given him a mildly grindier mission to justify 10pts.

My problems with the Jingles commander:

1. Starting with 3 skill points is a joke. 6 points would be a minimum, but 10 would have been ideal. Dasha started with 10 points.

2. The recording quality is mediocre. Sometimes his voice is louder, sometimes weaker, and the voice quality is not consistent.

3. The joke with killing allied ships is not creative.

4. Detecting non existing destroyers is annoying.

Overall, the Dasha commanders were much better made.

Simple, I have Jingles in ALL my ships, all.

He's the UBER ( with two dots over the U) commander.

The guy never gets old , despite the fact I always have to double check what's spotted.

Regarding the 3 points, he will sit nicely in my higher tier ships when I get those, is where All my lowest skill captains are.

Every Russian is BORN with 10 skill points. They are superhuman, as everyone without access to news from outside of Russia knows.

That point pretty much applies to anything we have as voiceover. It really is annoying. It is doubly annoying as there is no way to fix it with settings.

Presumably there is no way to access the in-game audio files? Five minutes with Audacity and the Normalisation filter would fix it....

Jungles makes the game fun, and besides you should be checking the mini-map when you are told you've spotted something.

A DD running away from you is less threat than one parallel, a BB broadside to you when you're in a DD is a deletion (of you) waiting to happen etc.....

All we need know is an HSF version of Jingles:cap_cool:

A guest lecturer from the RN.......

I haven't got the foggiest. You would have to rinse and repeat with every patch, though. We shouldn't even have to be doing this, it's WG's business to sort out this kind of issues, however.... it is entirely possible they simply don't even consider this a problem....

Have you heard of the tragedy of the Russian bathroom/toilet light switch? They work in ways, some might consider.. unnatural. With Russian wiring, it is possible that turning on the light with the toilet switch turns it on in the bathroom and vice versa. Now, try telling a Russian electrician that there's a problem with that. They both work! You will only sound like some weird, annoying freakish foreigner... :Smile_sceptic:
