Spending mah coal: Georgia, Thunderer or Gunter Lutjens?

I'm in a spending pickle. I will have enough coal at 26th december when the new coupon comes up to either get Thunderer, Georgia or the german captain GL. Now, I haven't bought the Thunderer before when I had the coal because I spent it on the russian captain, and I don't play tier X BB much. Simply not a BB man overall. But I do like an accurate gun. I hate the dispersion RNG of a lot of battleships, so Thunderer 'could' be fun for me i think? Georgia, I'm unsure, I love secondairy buidls, but something tells me thats a bit wasted on the Georgia. I don't meet many Georgia's built for secondairies. If its not a usable build, I'm not interested in her, but I like her speed and fast guns. But again, I'm not really a double B man. So possibly fun but again not sure.

Then there is Gunter. i love special captains, but I read that his talents are rarely unlocked in battle, and not very usefull. I hate that. Especially at 175k. So even though I am leaning towards the german captain, I'd hate to have one that isn't usefull most of the time.

 

Any suggestions or ideas about my options?

Well, if you dont like BBs / TX BBs then my suggestion might not be the best - but ill still vote for Thunderer. Got her a couple of days ago thx to snowflake event. So far only did a couple of coop-games but the guns are a dream. Accurate and pack a punch. On top of that rudder shift thats in the range of some cruisers. Whats not to love? Ill add one of my first shots with tsuntsun, because that was a "wow" effect.

Have ever wondered what would happen if you made a BB capable of chasing destroyers? 

Then give that BB some incredibly hard hitting and fairly accurate boomsticks.

Give it a reasonable hull.

Decent AA.

THEN have it loaded with rapid fire secondaries that spit 127 shells at anything within 10km?

 

If this sounds hilarious - then the Georgia might be the one for you....

Why would you like to have GL? For 175k coal he is not that great. His 4 special skills are quite meh for 3 out of 4 classes. Only for a cruiser his special skill is remotely interesting. So perhaps for a Hindy...Or a Nurn/ Mainz.

 

Would take the Thunderer ( might never know what that bonus crate will bring you) but I enjoy the Georgia myself. For the reasons you can read in the post above me

I've tried the Georgia, with two different  captains, one my Massachusetts secondary, and the other a tank build, as recommended by Flamu. I changed modules to suit. The problem with the secondary build is either surviving long enough or trying to get in close enough for the secondaries to be really effective. MY performance with secondaries was terrible. As a long range ship, much better. Better Damage, everything.

 

I'm in the same position, by the 26th I'll have enough coal to get the Thunderer or Jean Bart. Pity there are no good Destroyers to be had with coal. Last time I bought the Smolensk, large damage out put, but boring to play.

Maybe the Hayate will come as an option for coal. Don't spend it too fast.

Georgia secondary build is not usable. Georgia is good with survival/accuracy build. Get Thunderer if you like that. And that captain is no way worth that much coal....

There is another option. Your 25% discount coupon will be there for some time after the 26 th. If you are not sure about the current options why not wait. There are nice ships in preparation which might come available soon. True we did receive Blyska recently but there may be more ships added in 2020. I know the coal is burning in your pocket but if you are not sure, waiting is not a bad option.

I think we might be pretty similar and I would say Thunderer.  Not really a BB main either, but T feöls more like a battlecruiser with really accurate awesome guns.

Also bought Smolensk first, T second, noe im saving for Georgia or another new ship, hopefully Benham.

Georgia with hybrid build works surprisingly well too be honest, i love the ship very capable flanker can brawl if needed (better at housting due to high potential speed) and a gud battlecruiser killer as well.

 

Quite a flexible ship it reminds me of the amx 50 100 in some ways except this actually has armour lol and no 45sec magazine reload.

Do you own the Smolensk already? I myself will have the coal on the 26th and was considering between Smolensk (mostly in case they remove this dumb ship) and thunderer. I hate the Smolensk so much that I don't want to bring pain to others by buying it but what if my personality changes and I suddenly want to ruin others' games?

I've got Georgia and do recommend her. It's a fun bb that I keep coming back to just for fun. I'm not sure I'd recommend her over Thunderer which I've not played. I'm kind of mulling over getting Thunderer too, or wait for another coal ship...

I am mostly a Cruiser player nowadays, and I started hating playing BBs, because I feel I am fighting against dispersion/RNG and long reloads. But getting Thunderer has reconciled me with playing BBs. Great dispersion and acceptable reload. Great ship.

Save it if you dont like tier 10 much then tier 9 aint much good either and getting ripped off on a 19.5 captain that is a 10 p captain is stupid.

Bound to be some other good or fun ship turn up in the future

Never ever ever ever spend 175k coal on a captain as long as ships like Smolensk are priced at 183k coal while using a coupon...

 

Apart from that decide yourself if you play TX or TIX more, both are decent ships. Usually TX is better in regards to XP gain, however the meta is even worse than on TIX. My decicion process usually revolves around TX ships for clan battles vs. TIX ships to have something to play along when some of my friends try to grind a TIX silver ship.

Honestly, get Thunderer! I just got her today, and man.... she is a really really nice and comfortable ship.... Guns pack a punch, and there are more of them.

Georgia is good and it is premium, you wont really utilize the secondaries that much in current meta, and also the gun are too good for waste them on meme build. Bit low HP for T9

Thunderer is absolute beast, guns are brutal but the maneuverability is the deal-maker for me. She is not premium tho and T10 is not really my cup of tea these days

I would grab Lutjens only if you are really hardcore into KM BBs and secondaries, he sucks on DDs and added value on CAs is also questionable - it sometimes take over 10mins to activate measly 7.5% reload boost.

Imho I do way more damage with Ohio on distance than in Georgia.

and by the time I get enough steel I will of been married a 4th time in around 20 years ( Hope its a young rich Russian chick,) who can drive a sailing yacht~~~ anyways

I have Georgia, fun ship lolz fast, punchy guns with the ocasional interstelar salvo, exelent flanker and good at following the battle or repositioning if needed. 

So i can always recomend her. 

As for your othet two options, here is my list. 

-Georgia

-Thunderer

-Gunter, personally i wouldnt get the shipper unless you already have all the coal ships.
