This is a positive thread so please do not make negative comments here as there are other threads that have plenty of comments about this ship

Now, I had 24 k doubloons in port as I had saved them for this event and so purchased the doubloons packs as the grinds look hard

I have also managed to pruchase the first 2 token boosters and should shortly be able to purchase the third booster, still working on directive 2 just need to complete 1 more task, will be a toss up between damage, battleship XP or XP and even maybe aircraft as to which one completes the directive

Currently just short of 23.1 million points with 25 days 7 hours and approximately 40 minutes left to go

This will give me approximately 50.3 million points so just under 2% short, however, completing directive 2 will give me 250 token and daily battles etc will give me at least another 50 token, therefore I should actually be able to complete said ship with just 2 directives and the premium directives meaning that I can complete directive 3 in a more leisurely manner and still get the ship for my collection

Is anyone else actually bothering to try and grind this ship

I blew a lot of money on Santa crates instead, happy with the ships I obtained and I decided to give PR a pass

I did consider it but with all the controversy around the grinds, prices etc, hmm..  I do have 29k dubloons so possibility is still there,

We will see

No, not even remotely interested, and won't feel even little bit sorry for anyone who suffers any form of stress from trying - they have been warned. It's a great idea that's been very poorly implemented, driven by greed, and anyone actually trying to grind it is fully endorsing WG's very very questionable actions....and just so you don't get upset by any perceived negativity here, I feel very positive about my attitude toward this.

Got a lot of dubloons in Santa Crates. So I took them into the boosters. Even though I'll don't play the game for 2 weeks - I'll just log in to collect daily shipment tokens and activate the 3rd free booster. No problem at all. For now it's 35 of 36 so activating the 3rd booster in few days will help a lot.

Not in the least interested in the PUERTO RICO, a ship that was never built.

It is a good thing that they chose the PUERTO RICO for this event because if they had chosen some historical meaningful ship such as the Carrier AKAGI for example then I might have been tempted to spend money on it.

Ive bought Gorizia and am grinding but not necessarily planning on getting it. Wanna see how far i can get but expect to fail.

You have virtuay no time to grind when playing for free or with gorizia, meaning the schedule is nearly impossible. But again lets see.

Not me - it was never a serious prospect for a player of my abilities, and I'm not too keen on anything above T8 anyway. However, setting all the controversy and disappointment aside, the idea of slowly building a ship over a period of time, by earning certain rewards and completing tasks and missions, has considerable merit. Maybe leave the completion date open, but impose a starting date limit - i.e. you have to complete some sort of grind in a set time period in order to lay the keel, and you can then complete the ship at your leisure by earning shipbuilding tokens and whatnot.

I can't due to... Well... Having a life. But even if I could I wouldn't because I don't want to support the path wargaming is taking by actively taking part or by spending a dime on it.

Nope, not me... I try to get the Godzilla for free, but even for her I won't play more than usual... so it probably won't work out in the end... but I just can't be arsed to throw money at that greedy bunch at WG

In a pretty similar position, got all the dub boosters before the controversy. Looked at what was left to do and by the end of the weekend I'll have directive 2 and enough daily mission tokens to get the 3rd token booster and then its done.

I've been pretty much just playing as normal, random battles, knocking off snowflakes on my t5 and t6 ships. Got 7, 8,9 & 10's still to go, so that will probably get me through a good amount of directive 3 and maybe by the end of the event I'll have 3 finished.

Apart, from the bad communication and pompous words by WG, I think Puerto Rico is a doable project and I prefer it more than Benham's one.

I have taken the 1st  special booster and Gorizia (29euro cost) cause I think those 2 are sufficient to bring you PR.

Through game in past time, I had collected 7500 doubloons (btw I have payed for this game -before Gorizia- 40euro for 1 year premium account and I have bought in past Texas and Chinese cruiser less than 55euros total cost). So spending 6k doubloons from those earnt seemed to me a good choice and a "must", if I wanted PR.

Gorizia's purchase seemed to me natural cause helps much completing 2 and 3 directives plus when finished directive, you get 8500 doubloons pay-back.

I have utilized Gorizia in her full potential (I think) in directive 2 and I hope to do so in 3 too. Doing directive in 8 hours after her landing (yeah played like mad cause my job is an evening one,

it was "sweet" for me that once had an advantage! cause my job does nt let me to play CB, mischievious thought but somewhat like a "revenge" towards the "majority" that has the benefit to "taste" CB and other events, when I can not).

I ll do same in directive number 3 and I ll prefer again completing Gorizia's missions plus "citadel" and "torp" mission as 5th (with Benham and Kamikaze are pretty easy).

According to this, published by WG (Dockyard:The Rules are made simple):

"If you are planning to buy one premium booster:

The first directive should be complete before building commences;

Directives 2 – 4 should be completed within 3 days of the directive’s opening;

Directive 5 should be completed within 6 days of the directive’s opening;

You should finish the first 15 Daily Missions and collect all rewards from Daily Shipments;

And spend your tokens as soon as possible."

So Gorizia is gonna give me time to complete 4 and 5 directives, not in 3 or 6 but somewhat a couple of days later cause of the "early" making of 2 and 3 directives.

Btw a useful tip, for you m8s grinding PR.

Note about Puerto Rico project:
Morning 21 Dec, those not missing daily mission or shipment will have 275 shipbuilding tokens(ST).
The daily missions and shipment of this day give 25 more, so a total of 300ST, just enough to get your next "normal" booster(+173SP/min).
If you have available morning time, a good idea would have been to get daily missions done asap.
e.g. if you prefer to get them done 10 hours later, you will lose 173x60x10=103,800SP.
As general rule, check and if you observe that your next ST from "dailies" will "hit" next booster available, do daily missions asap.

P.S. I have already posted two negative comments about PR event but I want to be fair from POV- some will say I support WG but I do nt care.

Life has "politics" in all her aspects! Word Polis=City, Politis=Citizen, so it is totally natural even in game to see politics and policies:

WG has her "money-making" policy, we have the "whine-gaining" policy ... and we must use it as often as possible! lol

I am not sure of that, just because the real stinkers starts at directive 4 and you need to do directive 4 with just one booster and Gorizia missions end on directive 3.

Myself used 2 boosters because I was after the coal and steel rewards, as its going it will end at phase 30 of 36 and even if I am going to finish directive 3 I am not sure about directive 4, I hope those 2 extra boosts will be enough.
