critical error unable to update the launcher file

Hello i did just get World of Warships and did try and install the game but as soon as i try to run the Launcher i get

 

''​critical error unable to update the launcher file''

 

and then it pop on to  '' the changes will be applied in a few seconds... ''

 

the few seconds have now been 1 houre.

im  not sure what to do here beside running it as admin  and turning off my AV where nothing helps

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the program? You might also want to submit a support ticket.

I have seen people suggest that it might be anti-virus and/or firewall. Have you made sure that if you are using one or both of these that you have allowed access?

i have done so 3 times now and did  make a ticket

You'll probably have to hear from the ticket then. Unfortunately as the game is in CBT, most bug issues are not yet available readily. Think of it as you beta testing the launcher. Good job skipper.

we cant get in to the patch settings, when we start the patcher is automaticly starts to update and then we get that error, we cannot change any options or stuff

Have you cleared out the Updates folder in you main game folder?

 

Reading the above log I can see the 'wows_030.000088_launcher_eu.patch' was downloaded and from there trying to launch the update and it is failing. Delete that (and the rest in case) and try again.

 

Sorry this is happening to you but hopefully if we get this resolved it may be a good idea to log successful suggestions for future reference. (looks like a job I could do!).

I have deleted everything and tried again many times over. always the same problem though.

it gets to 34% for me at times.. some times 90% even 100% but then it breaks and ends up with the same

To disable torrents you may try this:

1. Backup WOWsLauncher.cfg

2. Open it with Notepad

3. find the line <launcher_transport>3</launcher_transport>

4. Change value to 2 (from 3)

did get in there just needet to be quick by hitting Pause when it was open for a split second , so got to click it off but it didnt help on the error

Please do a "clean boot" procedure (google for guide) and try updating the game. This will test if its a software conflict on your system.

did try with ur cfg and now it tells me i need the worldofwarships.exe is missing

 

it tells me '' you are running the latest client version'' after that
