I was thinking a little bit, if I shall make this public or not. I feel, it has the potential to create a(nother) shitstorm during the stream, which would be contrary to the cause.

*Update on the situation dec 16. lower in the post*

Here is the thing: That event is kinda advertised in a way, that you will get a reward for donating:

image.thumb.png.102cdda99729b4cca67c308c6d8624fb.png

Which is fine. WG looks generous, because they dont create incoming, it gets ppl to open their wallet for a good cause and we get something back. win-win-win. Right?

Well. I did a little digging. Here is the thing:

image.png.89f728ebd17e4cf6b61158362dffd731.png

image.png.e16ad40184b52394194622cd7f16ea70.png

image.png.7a60773f601340e9be476649d3a82853.png

So, every ship is available about 3 times - since there are 3 times for each ship. Once they are gone, you have to chose something else or go out home empty handed.

And you cant see anymore, which rewards are still available, because the page now looks like this:

https://donate.tiltify.com/+world-of-warships-community/charity-ship

So there is no guarentee that you get one of those ships when you donate!

Im not sure why you limit the availability (well I have a suspicion). But I dont think its right. I personally have advertised this event to several people and I got good feedback. I literally had ppl telling me things like "its for a good cause and we get a nice ship, so lets just throw out 100 bucks". I will now ofc go back to those ppl and make them aware, that they might go home empty handed.

And because its important, ill add this: If you feel like donating to a good cause - do it anyway. Dont need to do it on this event, just pick an organisation, that you feel does something good which you care about!

You can for example donate to WWF here : https://support.worldwildlife.org/site/SPageNavigator/donate_to_charity

which is btw a nice example for a transparent method of organizing soemthing like this! I can also pick a thank-you-gift. The socks are not hidden on the next page. There is no "1 pair of socks available" counter.

Im, again, a little bit dissapointed WG. Merry Xmas to you too...

Update: WG answered to those concerns.

If you select a reward that is no longer available, the system will not let you proceed with that donation until you select a different reward. Please have a quick look at the guide posted to the initial post in this thread, that should clarify things.

There is also more information avaiable here now:

there are still several of each available, apparently on first-come-first-served basis. Seems to me that if you select available (1/1) reward, you are guaranteed to get it. Anyway, this is charity, if you wanna drop $200 just to get a rare ship, you are doing it wrong.

How did you get to that stage on the page? Does it open, once you enter your details? Atleast something then. I still dont get it why WG wouldnt just throw out 100 of those ships, as if it matters.

it good you informed the community.

They actually altered that site too..

I agree, it's better to donate to charity directly and transparently.

why give through a corporation that donates your money, not theirs, but can claim the credit ,

unless they undertake to match every donation,

and its audited.

In these circumstances, a good corporate manager should consider donating all sales from the (absurd $200) Puerto Rico to charity imho

The sad reality is that Save the Children is a very worthy cause, but WG are not a worthy company to host it....they're greedy, false, unscrupulous and despite what many say, quite uncharitable themselves. So I won't be supporting them through this at all...there's something false about this.....They make enough money from us to donate the $35 000 to the cause themselves..they know it, but all they want to donate is their time? Am I reading that right, they're not giving anything of their own and we are expected to donate through them for a reward that's tainted with extortion? How about for every dollar we donate, they donate 10? Sound fair? I tell you what, my reward to them for doing that will be my continued and frequently paying services as a customer.

I'm very disappointed in WG in this, very.

YEah, couldnt use after effects at home due to windows 7. Plus have to travel by train so im more at the mercy of public transport which sucks.

a karambit is a specialy curved knife, like a sabre tooth, smooth large blade with a handle with a ringhole at the end for holding onto and spinning the weapon around.

its bloody expensive most fetching over £150’s, similar to bowie knives, butterflies and the stiletto (not too mention the new 4 knives that came out for csgo).

@MrConway

@Sehales

Maybe you could Clarify this ?

Not Lastly because it might be better to Clarify it BEFORE people Spend 200 Bucks and then Create a Second PR Catastrophe because they chose a Ship which had already been depleted and then Sit there Wondering why they didnt get any Ship.

Hi,

So if I understood correctly, if I donate 100$ I would be getting in return a Giulio Cesare (if that was the reward I selected)? Are the selected rewards guaranteed?

Thanks in advance

If one of the 3 Cesares is still there - yes, you can select it and get it 100%. If however 3 ppl already chose it, you will not be able to get it.

Why do i get the distinct feeling that the donations, despite being for a good cause, will cause another storm. :cap_tea:

If you want to donate to charity (which I advice you not to do) donate to charity, dont do it throu a different company because you dont know how much of that money said company puts into their own pockets.

And to clarify why I advice you not to donate throu charity its because Ive first hand witnessed how most "charities" work. Its the biggest conjob on the planet. If you want to help then go help physicly, go there and give people in need what they need.

Im a very cynical man when it comes to corporate charity since a lot of country's allow their donations to be used as a tax write off.

So for every euro you pay to charity they can claim a euro as expenses and pay less taxes as a result of it and at the same time play the good guys in front of the camera's.

At least the Charity Stream Guide states the following:

"Your transaction will not proceed if the item is not available/sold out before you complete your transaction."

https://forum.worldofwarships.com/topic/206996-upcoming-charity-stream-guide/

But who knows what the guide says tomorrow? It's a time of funny surprises when it comes to WG & spending money lately... :cap_like:

It is considered a weapon in my country, so you may not carry it around without a license which you won't get. But it still has its uses in the kitchen or workshop.

"First come, first served"

That should be written for transparency.

There are as others said, limited numbers of ships.  Your "donation" is not guaranteed to get you a ship.  Even if you donate more than the price per ship.

As for this "Event".  No, a big no.

I would rather march down to the local branch and place the payment directly.  Or choose another charity of your choice.
