Hi all,

How did some players already obtain "Puerto Rico" when the "Dockyard" is still not functional?

I was doing my CoOp "ShowFlaking" today when I saw 2-man Clan Div with 2x "Puerto Rico"... they ended up at the bottom (of CoOp) and when I checked their profiles they were barely 45% WinRate players... :Smile_facepalm:

To be precise, buying all the boosters for 24k doubloons gives you enough points to be able to finish the Puerto Rico instantly, using 35k doubloons. So 59k doubloons in total. :Smile_facepalm:

It really does hammer home different people's idea of spending money.

It would be north of £160 to buy the PR outright - an item of virtual goods. Compare that to the £292 one could spend on an old MG car for example and you really do question the value for money.

The PR will just sit around for most of the year and not be used - you can't drive it all the time. It is a cosmetic rehash of an earlier model that is cheaper to get and easier to buy. You constantly have to justify the purchase to friends and family when they ask 'why did you buy that?!' It used up money you really should have spent on household supplies that week. I mean I really don't see the compari.....

….. hang on.....I need a moment

Actually I think PR is bargain of the century really. Don't know what anyone's on about.

One of my friends bought 100€ deluxe editions of games to xbox, ps4 and pc all the time. Same game for every platform. He also wanted for all the platforms to have same name for user account so he bought some games again. Thousands of euros just on games that he played for 10-20 hours grinding trophies.

He often complained how he didn't have money in his bank account. This after he just bought games.

So yeah, there are different kind of people spending money.

Oh boy... I thought that this can be done only after the "Dockyard" activates (i.e. in about 2 days)... :Smile_facepalm:

Well... people can do what they want with their money... :Smile_hiding:

I start to doubt that these are real players. I think someone saw a player with PR in Coop, and it had 140 games on the account. I dont believe this. Must be bot accounts from WG or someone else from WG running around with PRs to showcase this ship, so others will start to whale it aswell.

Somehow 2 divved PRs coming bottom of a coop match doesn't seem to be a very good advert for anything except perhaps all the ships present that were anything else.

Still probably true though :Smile_unsure:

Their clan was legitimate... and they had 40% WinRate in "Puerto Rico" in Randoms (around 10 games in total)... I checked their stats after the CoOp game was finished by "See Profile"... they did sail and fire in CoOp as well... :Smile_hiding:

If people are actually paying that amount of money for a frickin' pixel ship in a video game then I feel sorry for them, I really do. If it was million doubloons they would still pay.

Disgusting.....for that kind of money I would expect nothing short of an H-44 :Smile_facepalm:

It's strange that some people believe it's worth it, I mean those of us playing the game  and are old enough to work it's very easy to afford, but the reality is we have far better things to spend the money on i.e. Wives and girlfriends.

Basically, the prerequisites to buying the PR is you have to be a WG bootlicker, relatively braindead, ignorant, completely devoid of any form of rational thinking, utterly desperate and have zero self-control...then you have to have a bit of money to buy those dubloons. You get, for one small instant, to show off a ship hardly anyone else has. Then the endorphines wear off and if you have any sense of whats real, you spend a long while wondering whether it was worth it because you're not going to spend too many times playing it as your ship collection grows.....and then one day WG turn off the servers and it all disappears.........

...does that sound fair?

That MG for £292 would be little more than a V5 and a pile of rust though...

Joke is. If you bought the 3 Premium Boosters you could effectively just Wait till the End of the Event and thenFinish it Cheaper cause the instant Finish Price Drops along certain Milestones.

But well. Thats Whales for you. They dont care. And they would not have cared if the Grind would have been 1 tenth of what it is. They would still have just thrown money at it.

Watch your language! One does not use the 'R' word in the company of an owner of fine British metal... thank you very much.*

*Actually I don't think it's too rusty - it's just got an engine that's too big for the space under the bonnet and electrics which are the embodiment of RNG (long before WG ever got hold of the idea). Oh and those fancy variable intakes that pack up and go clickity, clicky, clicky, click, click, clickety. I really need to look at those again once the weather gets warmer....

So I did run into a Puerto Rico (on my team) and that guy went as expected for someone spending so much money for pixels:

By using all that T10 premium goodness to run and beeing at minimum safety distance...furthest back...

Lol.  We have a Series 3 landrover - we know all about rust :s

Sorry, just seen your picture - I thought you meant a real MG not a "eurobox" - yes, you should be able to pick one of those up for under £300 :p
