Hello!
I would finaly finish the 7th part of this Puerto Rico mission. I have a plan and I would like to spend the whole weekend to do it.
But there is no way to do as i planned because a technical issue show this:

After the battle i noticed there were not any mission enabled.

But the Hall of Fame screen showed up without any counted points.

After game restart, the result is same.

How about getting a job instead of playing games? image.png.4befdae9d01152aa21824a234dc7e3db.png

Whole game is set to pay really good money. T8 - T10 are not playable without premium accout - if you want to play hight tiers without PA - it will economicaly ruin You in a game. Imagine, most of players are average at their best. 1 win to 1 lose in better case. One losed battle with T10 is equal to 3 win games with T6 to get silver back.

So people are forced to pay a premium account or use premium camos/flags or buying a T8 premium ship.

Also prices for premium ships are for some people really high.

Alaska - 63.49€
Roma - 44.08€
Tirpitz - 42.10€

Imagine, people from my region earns 600-700€ average as monthly wage. It is also night and weekend shifts inclooded.

They pay rent, they have childrens, they have to eat, pay for mobile phones/eletricity/gasoline, etc. They are fans of WoWs, but what is better ... to buy a new shoes for kids or buying some imaginary ship into a game ? Imagine how much effort it is cost to them, if they earn 3€/hour.
Small question ... what is better .. to sell 5x ship for 20€ or 1x 44€ ... becouse I know people who want some "products", but they are expensive for them. And from WG side is "no mercy"for beiing poor.

And this is not only my country, that is almost whole eastern Europe.

I have told W.G. MANY times that having no events for ships below tier V sucks. I have "premium" ships that haven't left port in years for that very reason. Folks would be a lot more willing to buy tier I-IV premium ships if there was any use for them. I don't even try to recruit new players, that the ship a new recruit gets is useless for the very same reason, that is not much of an incentive - d'oh!:cap_horn:

Indeed. One bunch of pixels cost as much as a complete game developed in a civilized country.

I actually agree with you, never really thought about that, and funny thing is, I've stopped playing the game a few days ago, but 30 minutes ago, I really wanted to get back to the days of driving the only ships I had....

Tier 1 ships.... no torps... just good old fashioned gun boats... but there is no incentive for me to ever play them again, even though I still have them all in my fleet...

now... if there was a reason for me to sail them... I would. But I get why WoWs does this, they want you to get to T10 faster and spend money faster... other than that, why would they want to keep those tiers alive except as a way to make money off new players... its really very sad...

Isn't having fun incentive enough?

In all honesty... Sometimes I wonder why we play this game at all. Do we do it for fun? Or is it all just a mindless grind to tier ten? And once at tier ten, then what? Grind another line of ships?

Please don't take this as a personal attack, I'm just wondering here... It seems to me that many players are grinding XP rather than having fun. But if you aren't having fun, what's the point?

Ummm, of course, its about having fun, I'm going to be 60 in July and I have Terminal Lung Cancer.... I wouldn't play WoWs if it wasn't fun....

sadly... recent events like the PR debacle means that playing the game isn't fun any more, its been about 4 days since I played my last game.

But my point was this, if you're grinding a ship like the PR (and you were super human) then you cannot afford to play Tiers 1 through 4. Sadly, that is the honest truth of it.

Its all to do with hype... WoWs hypes an event so EVERYONE wants the PR and then when it looks like they won't get it, they buy it.... but they DID also have to grind it....

Its a major WoWs strategy.... keep people hooked and coming back for more... That is now over for the most part, they would really kill the game if they pulled another stunt like that...

And as no one wants to refer others to the game, then... as Doctor McCoy used to say "It's dead Jim"..... Unless WoWs decides to hold a very special event for T1 to T4 to get EVERYONE playing those tiers... including many new players who might now decide the time is right to start playing, especially as a reward might be a brand spanking new T5 premium ship.... a GOOD T5 ship.... not the Krispy Kreme for example... or the Texas.... a good one...

The good thing with the idiotic Puerto Rico event/ grind was that it made me rediscover my long forgotten board games! Far much more fun than spending a crap load of money to fill some greedy Russians' pockets!

Avalon Hill's Bismarck and Jutland were up and provided far more joy than trying to farm 3 million base XP in some ridiculous event. And I saved a lot of cash as well, to be better invested in other board games!

I guess the 2019 X-mas Event was rather an internal WG event, going something like this:

WG Internal Directive 1:

- Make the player base believe you have an awesome event coming up       Reward: 10k new premium days bought by players                 100k USD into the pockets of WG (100 USD bonus for all employees)

- Make the players buy a crap load of camos and flags                                     Reward:  25k signals and camos sold                                        150k USD into the company (150 USD in personal employee bonus)

WG Internal Directive 2:

- Create an awesome looking event, like building a ship                                   Reward: 20k X-mas containers bought                                       Another 50 USD employee bonus

- Make players believe it is obtainable by everyone                                            Reward: 75k Ship Build boosters bought                                   Another 100 USD per employee in bonus

WG Internal Directive 3:

- Hide the real difficulty in the in-game directives                                               Reward: Less than 10k complaints filed                                     Free cakes on Friday

- Create a non-committing apology, without apologizing                                   Reward: Some players might actually believe it                        Some more ignorant fools pay for premium boosters

WG Internal Directive 4:

- When hit by a massive critique storm, refuse to reply                                      Reward: No need to compensate for the failed event              Lots of cash in WG pockets, free vacation trip to Yalta, all expenses paid

I still have my copy of Avalon Hill's Jutland, as well as Wooden Ships and Iron men. One of my brothers and I spent many an evening on the floor with battle maneuver gages...:cap_old:

I'm trying to play just for fun, but then all of the dozens of missions, directives and events keep bombarding me every week and every day and not yielding to them and to all their restrictions (play this ship and get this amount of that) means I'll be missing out on everything.

The times when I decided to play what I liked to play are long over. And the way they keep ramping up stuff, even I - a prototypical no-lifer - can no longer keep up.

Not much fun left honestly other than sort of collecting ships and watching them in port (or on some maps).

WG added a flashing golden splash now to attract the last naive people they have in their player base.

So desperate.

Exactly. If I was any better, I'd dig into the code and remove the Dockyard completely.

It's quite distracting and I don't give a F about it. WG's desperate moves to milk doubloons from players won't work on me.

So no apology for psychologically manipulating people into buying boosters, you know you create a problem then sell a solution that is what we call a snake oil salesman. No apology for falsely saying it would be free when like only 1% of the player base can actually achieve it without spending money.

You're sorry the community didn't like being mislead, not sorry about the poor event or wanting people to spend 18 hours a day grinding for a month to try to get a ship....

can also say for new british ships. they used to be used for ordinary shopping, now you are making some points for winning them for me and they are not something special. people expected much more. by the way I kill them very easily. you made a big mistake for puerto rico. people cannot sleep on a computer.

you even started taking people off points. the rewards of how good they are are just as weak and take a long time to win. we give money we want some news in the game.

Money wasted here... but hey ho... I have pleasure in trying to sink a lot of ships to no avail. It does brighten my day to sink a Puerto Rico though.
