While the community have been making their feelings about acquiring Puerto Rico abundantly clear, and indeed a poll already exists for that, I'm not seeing that same determination for Gorizia.

MrFingers has already produced an excellent comparison to the P.E.F. grind a year ago, and even grinding Gorizia for free is an ambitious goal for a casual player, especially if the intention is to follow through with the Gorizia combat mission chain for the chance to earn two New Year permanent camouflages for Tier 8 ships before the event ends. Last year it became apparent that buying P.E.F. outright at the start would make the entire event grind easier, and you could look forward to receiving a Doubloon refund when the ship was finally acquired from the Directives. A similar strategy suggests itself this year (Gorizia will refund 8,500 Doubloons), but I'm hesitant to fork out upfront even though ultimately I wouldn't objectively lose out.

Putting aside how you feel about Wargaming right now, how do you feel about Gorizia objectively vis a vis making the grind a bit easier? What strategy do you pick?

Another port queen. Dont care. If i get it randomly by playing Ranked Sprint, then yes.

This one is actually possible to obtain, although 320k commander xp + one of the 48k base XP missions on directive set 3 will be needed along with causing some 5,6M damage in directive 2.

Doesn't look much worse than PEF if you pick missions carefully.

Sure as hell not grinding directives in WoWs after WG went full r*tard beginning with the Kutznetsov patch in may.

I could not care less.

I cant leave out my Feelings about Wargaming. And right now I am in Full Screw you **** Mode towards Wargaming.

This is so Ridiculous that I am actually considering to just put up the Middle Finger and not even bother logging in for the next Month...

This is so freaking Ridiculous that I have no Idea how to even Describe this without completely obliterating any semblance of obeying the Forum Rules.

Also LOOOL. Ambitious Goal for Casuals ???

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAA

Getting even Directive 3 Finished is next to Impossible for a Casual Player.

Have you looked at these Numbers ?

Since when does a Casual Player Grind its Way from Tier 1 to Tier 10 in a Single Month ?

Because Honestly said. That would be way less Effort than Finishing these 3 Directives.

Sorry. But I am somehow Expecting Wargaming to come out and Shout "April Fools" or "Hidden Camera" we got you good or something like that.

This Farce is the Textbook Example of how Casinos Lure People into a Casino and make them lose Money even long after they passed the Line of their Credit Cards.

They basicly Scream that you should Sink Time and Effort into this. So that when you Fail you feel so Invested that you will just Pay the price of like 3 Tier 9 Premium Ships just to get the Reward for that Grind.

And theyre not even trying to camouflage it. They are Shoving it right into Peoples Faces in such an Obvious manner that you can only think its some sort of poor Joke.

Heck reading the Directive Names.... Here Comes the Fun ? HAHAHAHAH

Oh my God. They Shoved their *********in our Faces and ****************************** long Text I cant Write cause this Forum contains People below 18 but for which I got no way to really describe it any other way.

Man They are not just putting us down. They are giving us Animal Names while they are doing it. And if you listen to their comments so far you would think they really believe we are enjoying it.

Its like they Watched the whole Farce Bethesda made with Fallout 76 and when someone was stupid enough to say something like "Ha. No Game Company could possibly create a bigger Community Outrage than Fallout 76 did" Wargamings Boss got up from his Couch and said "Hold my Beer. I got an Idea for the Christmas Event".

My original intention was to buy Gorizia to do the missions with, but having seen what unreasonable conditions apply to the various directives the ship needs to stand up on its own merits.

Since she seems to be a flaky version of Zara, sans torps, I don't really care if I get her or not. The only real upside to getting her now is that it prevents me getting her in next year's Xmas crates (assuming WG haven't done something even more egregious before then to drive me away)...

I grinded the PEF event last year. The end result was complete burnout and not playing the game for 6 months. I'm not going to repeat it. My original plan was to play a lot during the holiday and play only casually from January, only playing the ships I like, when I like, without grinding, and doing a lot of other fulfilling stuff in my freetime, besides gaming. The angels from WG helped me to realize, that I can already start it from December..

It is still a ball busting grind for a premium ship in what is arguably one of the weaker lines in the game.

Hard pass.

I have this unhealthy habit of buying ships that are supposed to help the grind, so I will buy it during weekend.

It looks like I will get the PR just for people to rage at me :)

Gorizia looks to be a worse-than-zara t7, the only possible reason I would ever care to get her would be to help me complete the directives.

Since getting the PR is impossible if you work for a living and don't want to drop at least 28k doubloons for a clumsier Alaska, I don't particularly care if I get another t7 port queen either.

Errr.

If I somehow happen to get her then... ok, I guess?

Considering how stupidly insane the directives are, I'm not going to actively bother with them. And with the sale on the Civ 6 DLCs this weekend....

Thanks for info, was waiting for that.

Rise and Fall is 50% off, Gathering Storm 40%.

If you don't have the game at all, the Platinum edition looks like a steal.

I decided to not care.

After I'm done with the snowflakes, I will retire for the rest of the the patches duration and look for other games to play.

If Wargaming wants to spit their players in the face during their christmas party, I'll just go somewhere else.

Well, Gorizia is just a Zara, as far as I can tell. But no torps, which makes me a bit uneasy. probably not a bad ship but as far as I am concerned, I already have plenty of ships with untrained captains, so I do not bed need this one. Sp my attitude is: "I'll take it if it comes, but never-you-mind if I it doesn't, no biggie". At the moment I am more focused on training at the least 10 point captains into all of my existing ships first, before acquiring any more new ones. :cap_old:

WG are having a laugh. Their idea this year, while maybe noble in ambition, has turned rotten given their overzealous requirements.

I wanted to get the Gorizia for the ship missions it unlocks (want teh CV and DD). Then I looked at the directives I need to complete and I concluded that I cannot complete directive 3 with my main class (DDs), as I will be missing 2 missions (not possible to complete in DDs). If I get close enough I might actually try cruisers but I don't think I can do it DDs only.

"Don't care" + "None of the above"

Even if I manage to get her as event reward, I will probably only do a first mission from chain and never more bother with playing her.

I bought it, but I would have bought a premium Zara anyway, as it's a nice looking ship and the addition of hydro makes the ITA ships less pointless; like the Ducas.

Eff this event in the A, though. Don't care any more.

The only ship I played a lot earned by an event is the kamikaze r. All the rest of them I hardly ever play, none of them are worth any extra effort on top of regular playing the game.
