Santa's rng loot boxes worth it?

Hello, the only reason I'm considering getting either a metric ton of the cheap ones or a couple mega crates. Is to get the Kronstadt, Mikhail Kutuzov, Belfast, Enterprise or Imperator Nikolai. Or alot of coal to get a coal ship. 

 

But is it worth it? I only posses like 1/9th of all premiums. So I if I get a ship it could be one I don't want. But there are flags and camo.. Both have dropped alot when I bought Italian and French crates. So I'm kinda sceptic.

 

I'm hoping kronstadt will be on sale again as a cruiser player. But Mr Conway said in a stream once that Musashi and Kronstadt were removed because they were super popular and wanted to keep those ship for only a specific amount of players.

 

And yes a wise man would say don't buy loot boxes. But  cruisers and Income ships

Hello mate.

I bought 8 medium santa crates, got Hill, Molotov & Exeter. But I only have abt. 30-40 premiums ships out of 82 on the list.

Buddy from clan bought 80 medium and 8 big containers, and he got (consider he already had abt. 70 from the list):

Marblehead lima, Yahagi, yudachii, Bayard, Asashio, Whicita, Geogia, Friesland, Azuma and Kutuzov

 

I don't know if it's worth it, and won't tell anyone to buy. This is results so far from our clan, expect more.

It's really not, I had some spare cash laying around and bought 20 of the mega ones, got zero ships out of it despite not owning most premium ships beyond the Kron, Musashi and Mass

Better to set an achievable goal - a coal ship, doubloon ship (new coupons incoming, btw) or a straight cash purchase than to rely on RNG drops for super rarities. The name of the game here is getting to to spend more than you might do otherwise. Lots more. Be aware.

I wouldn't say it's worth. We see a edfinite "reporting bias" with these containers as people who get crap don't come to boast to the forums for their crapload of crap container haul.

Hey, bought a pack of 20 Big Santa containers - doubloons, good flags and camos, and 4 ships 2 T5 and 2 T6 - what they *think* on the NA server is that the list of 86 gets filled from the bottom tiers up - my purchases seems to verify, so when you have 9 out of 86 ships, it looks like your chance of getting the Kronshtad is slim. Never say never of course. For me, 5 ships in 20 containers, not that bad.

bottom line think of it as charity your giving money to one of the richest gaming companies in the world but at least they wont pay any tax on it, so it depends on how much you feel like giving,

They're RNG. Maybe you're born under a lucky star and drop a Kutuzov, Kami and Belfast from the first 3 containers you open. Then it was worth it.

 

Then again, maybe you only drop camos. Then it was not.

 

Overall, when making financial decisions regarding WG, I'd apply the same rule as you would to a casino: you might occasionally "win" something nice, but in the end, the house always wins. The only way to come out ahead is to not spend any money on lootboxes. You like the game itself and want to support them to keep it alive? Great. Buy premium time. Or a ship. Or whatever else where you know exactly what you're getting for your money. Lootboxes need to be banned everywhere, like they have been in some countries. All they do is teach compulsive gambling behavior.

Hmm. But that means campbeltown can drop . I got it for coal got rid of it as it just didn't fit my play style. For I got like 20 premiums. As I sold kii, Loyang, Emden, Lima tachi, Degrasse, Lazo. As economy is a #####.

I went stupid on these crates last Christmas and what I can’t tell you is I received all the lower tier ships before Belfast, Missouri, Kronshtadt etc came out. I’m guessing they will drop in exactly the same manner this year. 
 

I didn’t sell any of my premiums in case this time I wanted anything, as it stands I wouldn’t mind Friesland so I’m hopeful that if I’d ‘do’ buy any containers my chances of it dropping should be ok

If you got money to spent AND want to spend it on WG/Warships, then rest assured it's a gamble. You can get lucky with 4 premium ships (that you want) out of 8 containers. Or you can get unlucky with no premiumships out of 40 containers.

 

If you just want to gamble and don't mind anything you're getting, I'd say go for it. Your money, your choice.

I already own most of the premium ship so I might buy just some xmas gifts to get some coals, steels and freexp but nothing special. Last holiday I spent a lot but this holiday... I will be more beware where to spend my money and there are more things upcoming like Steam holiday sales.

In the past, the most useful things I got from the crates were the coal, free XP, flags and especially the NY camos. I still got a stack of the old ones which originally only gave a free XP boost but got upgraded somewhere along the line.

In any game its a gamble. But if you like the game more you're more likely to throw your money at the mother of rng.

 

But wg has the thought that people want 3 camo pieces or 50 ramming flags as reward. The lather is most garbo these days and doesn't sell for any good price. 

 

I'll save up for other ships that are still coming. Siegfried, Odin, Mainz.

No, they don't. These things are there for filler.

 

Most people are buying to take a chance at a prem ship, especially one which cannot be obtained in any other way except these boxes and supercontainers. WG knows this perfectly well.

If you want said ships prepare to spend around 500€ to 700€.

You have done a big disfavor by selling older premiumships.

last year small boxes were useless and megas too expensive. large boxes were the one to take.
