Carrier callbacks and game ballance.

Hey guys, been out of the game for around 3 years.

After logging back and realizing i cant play tier 8 or below battleships because carriers. 

So then I thought I could counter their shenanigans with a fully AA decked cruiser. 

 

Guess what? I was wrong, they close in and get me spotted, entire enemy team spots me, planes vanish into thin air but i get no planes shot down cause apparently when a plane says "screw you i'm going home" it means they become invulnerable.

 

Thanks for making carrier vision control even more risk free than it already was, cause that's what the game needed. 

I played a lot of DD's too back in the day but apparently every new ship has a more fancier than before powercreeped anti DD mechanics and gimmicks.

 

3 Questions.

 

Why are carriers even more oppressive and uncounterable than before the glorious rework?

 

What's the point of playing a gunboat DD when every new addition to the game (including these assholes in the air) just make you want to go back to port?

 

Why do ships have anti-air when click of a button gives your planes force fields and invisibility?

  1. Because you lack experience. BB do fine vs CV
  2. The point is to have fun. DD were always challenging. Taking a break for 3 years does not make you better
  3. To force CV players to click that button. Without AA you may end up their personal credit and XP farm

I suggest to take a closer look at the matches: full of BB. Looks like other players can deal with CV.

And if you do understand the point of the game or the advantage of good AA, then I cannot help you.

I wonder which ship type is least susceptible to getting accidentally spotted?

What class benefits most from DD's getting the short end of the stick?

Which class is least damaged by bombs and sky-torps relative to their total hp?

You realize that by making the game more anti DD it becomes easier for BBs?

he dont divert them just learn to play in the new meta dds just cant yolo if a cv is in a game. also there are tips and tricks how to deal with cvs when they atack you in dd. but as i said befor there are so many threads about that so go look if you want to know.

Great questions, just you aren't going to like the answers.

 

Just make sure that you are understanding the AA game mechanics as they currently are as they are significantly different from where they were both before and after the Rework.

 

And try out carrier gameplay, it will show you that it isn't easy to use AND how best to counter the new gameplay as a surface ship. 

 

(Just wait until the submarines arrives! That's gonna shake things up big time!)

The aa works like this- see enemy planes, press T and O to their direction , planes vanish and no actual losses for the carrier, the cruiser that tried to shoot the planes got detected for free and probably died to a lottery salvo from border humping battleship.

Well, obviously Smolensk and Worcester benefits the most from a CV in game.

Might have something to do with my warpsite getting divebombed for 30k, but hey thats cause i didnt dodge in my agile ship yeah?

Okay, I was wrong, carriers are perfect the way they are and the game meta is as good as it could be. Thanks all for your support and guidance.

Oh come on ffs....10 battles back and only 1 in a DD which obviously got wiped out early by a CV hence your whine. Warspite at 100% with a couple of wins with great damage and no other real evidence of fail in those battles...I think you exaggerate greatly about your 1 bad experience and are jumping on the bandwagon. :Smile_sceptic:
