For the record. I already saw first finished Puerto Rico with that camo. I do not know what magic that guy had pulled off... So I guess there's a shortcut to it. Even with all three golden boosters. It should take time.

I'm waiting for this time of year, and happly shopping from WG.
I was about to buy some things from premium shop, try to complete directives and build the ship.  
After read this topic I will save some time and money this year.

 

On PTS this event looked great. New idea, something fresh. 
Now I'm looking at requirements and WTF? 
What a dissapointment!

 

I agree T10 can't be cheap, but should be real and possible to achieve.
I agree that we have to chose, what we are willing to invest. Time or money. Not this time. 

Before release this event, did You count WG, how many battles and time will take this to complete? 
24h - 8h work, - 1h travel - 5-8h of warships. There is some time left to eat and even sleep few hours. Christmas?, Family? Who need this s..t?

I would like to see how someone from you, WG staff, do this grind and share his/hers experience wiht us. In free time of course, AFTER work.  

 

This event is perfect example how feedback from "Benham grind" have been heard by WG. You are clearly testing player limits. How much BS can they take and still pay for it? 

Is this game for normal people? Or maybe I (we) should go to rehab? 

I like this game, and I have over 15k battles. I have happly invested a lot of time and money. This time it's to much for me.

After you payed for all three dubloon boosters, your building process has progressed far enough that you unlock the option to complete the build with dubloons for another 35k.

 

To be fair though, even by just using the regular F2P grind you can get to this stage.

To put the grind into perspective, they expect you to grind enough Free XP to get Alaska & Nelson. Or for those of us who're older. Missouri and Musashi.

 

The base XP requirements are somewhere between day job and 24-hour shift.

 

Sure, you can spend doubloons. 59k in total and you have it for the cheap price of 199,98€ and you even get 2k doubloons you can spend elsewhere. Yay.

 

Wasn't Benham equally pricey when buying her via boxes? I remember Benham being ludicrously expensive via boxes only.

 

Having looked at the directives some more, I can just echo what other people who are better than me at the game have said. This isn't a free ship. This is driving players into sunk cost fallacy motivated by fear of missing out. This is WG showing us the big finger and what the marketing department thinks is appropriate time invested in the game. Namely all the time. Plus the bonus of "Actually, we still expect you to spend 200 bucks, because screw you, that's why!"

The amount of XP and Free XP is enough to grind several lines from T1 to T10. And thanks to WG's infinite wisdom, synergy has been stripped from the event as much as possible.

 

This isn't a free boat. Don't believe that lie for a moment, this is an enticing price designed to make people spend 200 bucks.

 

Anyone who claims it's possible to do it for free? Prove it! I dare anyone to grind this madness and get it for "free". Quotes because you're going to need a lot of expensive camo and dragon flags to get the needed XP/Free XP/Money.

I wonder if you would actually spend more on just buying the boat...or on all the camo/signals you need (assuming you had to buy all you use specifically for this event), assuming regular levels of average XP/winrate (and non-insane teams during the event).

Maybe I'll try and figure it out..solving this sounds easier and more fun than the PR grind.

And no, you are not seeing wrong. Most of the requirements are about 4-7 times higher than last year, with only credit requirements being almost halved.

 

 

Truly simple task to get Gorizia, you know, for those plebs unable to grind 30 hours a day for PR.
