[ST-EU] OldGrandad Supertester 3,404 posts 35,711 battles Report post #2003 Posted June 17, 2016 Coloured kill messages clashes with minimap with ship names and damage counter (both use battle_elements.xml). Result of using the 2 mods together you lose ship names on the minimap AND do not have any kill messages at all. Chose either but not both.

Same after uninstalling Aslain. After 5 or 6 KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERRORs, my Bios told me, there was no bootable harddisk.O_oSeemingly my SATA-controllers were reset to RAID-mode... really weird. Guess one should not open random *.exe-files from the internet.Never had that problem before but I will (if at all) try to manually install mods from now on.Hope for Aslain and the rest, that it is just a glitch. The error you had can be down to faulty/loose cabling to the drive(s) or even issues with the drive(s) themselves. I would say your issue was more coincidence rather than by the mod. To diagnose further we would need more details about your rig, have you moved it lately? Anyway, best to get your drives thoroughly checked and check the cabling. Good luck! From looking up the Error, I kind of concluded the same. And since I like tinkering, I checked up everything. So my system is back running. Even though I was hesitant, I tried re-installing yesterday's version of the mod-installer and it first froze and then killed my system again during the finishing part of the installation. Did not try today's version though. Appreciate the work you guys do, but right now, I think, I'll rather wait.

Doerte Beta Tester 256 posts 17,143 battles Report post #2009 Posted June 19, 2016 (edited) Alright: A little update: Loaded new (and overhauled) installer and it works like a charm. Seems much faster, too and does not freeze up on me. So, many thanks! Minor complaints/hints: -For some time now (till start of 0.5.6), the "kill sound" if u sink an enemy ship seems to sometimes disappear. Is/was that a known problem? Fixed in v7? -Instead of the colored kill-messages (worked once and they are great) since 0.5.6.1 the messages are completely missing with some mod-combinations. Don't know, which. (Did NOT install to disable chat or sth like that) -There are 2 mod-categories that activate the dmg-log. Monstrofil's player panels and the one under "Various mods" (both can be activated at once). Do they interfere with each other? -Even though chose to see/hear preview, I cannot hear any sounds within the installer (afaik since version 4) even with some time to maybe buffer sound file -If i choose "compact" or "full installation", no tickboxes seem activated? On purpose? -"Tirpitz corrected"-camo never worked for me once. Because of Moebius_LW's camo-pack? (Edit: yupp!) -with Monstrofil's panels, stats still only seem to show up once so often -Team-loading screen seems to bug out, if players got a Rank from ranked games Hope, that helps. If not, just gimme a PM and I'll stop reporting stuff like this. Fair seas! Edited June 19, 2016 by Doerte

I have not examined every mod in detail yet but I can say that it conflicts with the below popular mods; Player's Panel with HP bars + damage logs + stats (bt monstrofil) - (Works with the other Player Panels). Damage counter + in battle clock Damage counter + in battle clock + minimap ship names Minimap with ship names Minimap with ship names and damage log Regarding sounds, I too do not hear the ship sunk sound (just see the icon appear) but to date cannot find what is conflicting with the sounds. Thx a lot, mate! Appreciate your help. Regarding the 'kill-sounds': I can live with that. -But the missing kill-log is, especially during ranked games, a major thing. I think, since the new installer has a lot of improved in terms of giving feedback/suggestions/categorizing what mod-combo to take and what not, I'd include your info about those conflicting mods (and the result of a missing kill-log) to those infos Enjoy the Sunday! Regarding using coloured kill messages with Damage counter + in-battle clock + minimap ship names, whilst the coloured kill messages appear in battle chat, no ship names appear alongside players names in chat, not a deal breaker but I would miss that. My ships are some sort of screwed up graphics up side down in the port ... I hope an update will follow, cause it's a great modPack. LOL! While I was typing, Aslain updated the mod. Great job and congratulations! Controller keys are changed with every new update. But for instance, if you use a zoom mod you can extract the new controller keys from the newly updated camerasConsumer.xml (after extracting it from res_packages). This of course would only be needed until Aslain gets the updated mods.
