Update 0.9.0 will begin the British event arc with early access to British heavy cruisers.

Players will get British tokens for completing Directives, Daily combat missions and from Daily Shipments. These may be exchanged in the armory for random bundles. Four bundles will feature Tier V-VIII British heavy cruisers Hawkins, Devonshire, Surrey and Albemarle with the "Victorian White" permanent camouflage. Other bundles will have camouflages, special signals, Coal, and other rewards. Besides bundles in exchange for tokens, there will also be bundles for Doubloons.

To celebrate the Lunar New Year, two permanent camouflages with special horn sounds were added for Wukong and Bajie. Siliwangi will get a Lunar New Year permanent Camouflage. Two new commanders Sun Wukong and Zhu Bajie, patches, and flags were added. Lunar New Year containers will be available: they can drop Pan Asian premium ships, permanent camouflages for them, Doubloons, and other rewards.

You could have used the occasion to upgrade the model of Izumo.

The superstructure looks weird and impractical, considering fields of fire of secondaries/AA.

Please stop it with the randomizing of rewards for events. Either give the rewards directly or don't give them at all.

If it is a random draw from a container or from bundles it doesn't matter. Some will be priviliged and get everything early while others, no matter how much effort they put into it, will not get it at all or only part of it. As witnessed in the past two events, your randomizer seems to very heavily favor early or late draws. So if you don't get something early the probability to get it in one of the last bundles is extremly high. This further splits the community apart in their struggle to essentially get the same things.

Please stop it with the "World of Casino games". Return back to actually rewarding players for their effort instead of this "lucky draw" [redacted].

I agree with @Egoleter. So far, the only early-access event WG has really done right was the one for the British BB's. 3 mission chains, 3 rewards. Completed 1 chain: T3 ship, completed 2 chains: T3 & T4, completed 3 chains: T3 & T4 & T5 ships. Do X, get Y. No randomisation, no luck,...

Also, that permoflage for the British cruisers. Nice to see one gets back to the colourscheme the RN used in the late 1920's, but it looks horribly out of place on the Surrey & Albermarle.

@Egoleter @MrFingers I agree too. I got really lucky in the past two early access events; I got Jaguar from a daily shipments container and Montecuccoli from a container of the first directive (didn't got anything else tho).

I think that another early access that was done correctly was the RN CVs, because, apart from grinding resources, you couldn't get the higher tier unless you first got the lower one (only got Hermes and Furious, couldn't get the tier 8). I think it was done correctly because you could get those ships just by playing and grinding resources, no RNG was involved (apart from the container rewards which however, didn't has anything to do with getting a ship early).

P.S. Guess who is going to be my captain for those cruisers... It will be... Jingles :cap_old:.

At least it is an improvement to containers. With RNG-containers you can open 100 containers without a ship/mission.

With this random bundles you are sure, that you get the ship/mission, if you buy all bundles.

At least a small improvement.

:cap_wander:Please for the love of God rename that tier 8..... Albemarle was a battleship, not a cruiser. Bedford was not great, but miles better than Albemarle, the name is simply not consistent with British cruiser names historically. :cap_rambo:

I agree. Something like HMS Birkenhead (which was the name of what first was the Antinavarchos Kountouriotis back in 1910) would be more fitting. Also a town with a naval connection.

Ackcheloi..... it was one of the names approved for the late WW2 heavy cruisers. According to Norman Friedman, anyway.

"According to Moore, Building for Victory, p 144, the names initially chosen were Benbow, Blake, Effingham and Hawke, Benbow being changed to Albemarle and Effingham to Cornwallis by the new Ship Names Committee early in 1941. These names were approved by King George VI.

Friedman, Norman. British Cruisers . Pen and Sword. Kindle Edition."
