Hey guys, from stats I seen on the wiki, it looks like kleber is the best firestarter purely looking att chance of fire (10%). So from player experience... Is kleber still the biggest offender when also comparing firerate?

Well, RoF also plays a part. Kleber has a good fire chance per shell, but only 2% better than Daring, which fires three times faster.

Daring = 6 shells, 24 RPM, 8% Firechance = 6*24*0.08 = 11.52

Harugumo = 10 shells, 20 RPM, 5% FC = 10*20*0.05 = 10

Kleber = 8,8.57,10 = 8*8.57*0.10 = 6.856

(oh, and Friesland = 4,33.3,8% = 4*33.33*0.08 = 10.66)

With DE and fire flags it looks different though.

6x24x0.11=15,84

10x20x0.08=16

Daring has almost twice the fire chance, so not even close.

Both ways it is very close.

Of course Harugumo usually runs IFHE so its HE can pen BB armor....but at the cost is fire chance

Daring would be, too, I expect, but with all things being equal,, captain skills and flags, etc she would edge out Harugumo. They're both still very good firestarters, though.

I was talking compared to the Kleber, not the Harugumo

Hard to tell, when someone states that Daring has almost double the fire chance, where the most common interpretation would be the value "fire chance" which is per shell, with 10% for Kleber base and 8% for Daring base. Daring has better fire setting capabilities over time.

Tier 10 only?

Maxed out Valkyrie sets more fires per minute on a stock tier 3 BB than IFHE Daring on a tier 10 BB running fire prevention. :Smile-_tongue:

What is it you're calculating?

i.e. what does "fire chance = 11.52" mean?

It's just a figure expressing the potential of each ship to set fires over one minute, based on the number of shells the ship can fire in a minute and the fire chance of each hit. Higher figure the better.

You still have to consider range and ability to hit targets.

In the end the Russians and French will set more fires per game. Unless your enemy really likes standing still in front of you burning.

There can also only be so many fires. So the amount of Conqs, Smolensks etc camping behind you will affect how many fires you can set.

RNG is the best fire starter! If he says YES you shall put an enemy ship on fire with only 1 shatter, if he says NO then you are not going to set fires even if have hit it 100 shells.

Fire chance x number of guns x shots fired per minute. You get a number. The higher the better. It's not rocket science.

Or in other words already stated by a poster above, potential fires per minute.

In terms of fires per minute Daring is the best, however Daring requires IFHE so that drops slightly, and when the Klebér pops its reload booster I'm pretty sure it is a strong contender just because of that high firechance.

Then again the port stats don't take into account the built in fire resist each ship has so what do I know.

Fire resistance is dependent only on ship tier and mounted upgrades/skills.

Yes I know, which means on paper the Darings actual fire chance is around 4% when fighting tier 10 ships. Unless something has changed.

Well the Kleber does good job with lighting stuff up, so do Khaba and Grozovoi, well actually pretty much the rest of the russian and french lines do it well too... Friesland, Blyska and the RN line can do it as well albeit with the loftier shells so the proloneged gunnery at range gets tiersome after a while... As for which has the greatest mathemathical fire potential IDK prob daring or feiesland due to insane ROF so you get lots of rolls...

Although I would just take Smolensk for that tbh, that thing is a salt generator...

You can compare here: https://proships.ru/stat/ships/compare,Destroyer,all,10,,/ - there is a line for Fire-Chance etc. And even stock-values and full-chance (but no IFHE).
