Where are the balance changes?

Hello there,
I was just wondering why the game gets so little balance changes lately?
I understand that they need to focus on profitable content in the patches, but every time I open patch notes, I hope for some buffs/nerfs to existing ships.

What gives? Do the developers consider the current state of the game balanced?
Or maybe they plan to do the balancing in a bigger swings, perhaps once per several patches?

What do you guys think about this topic?

Aside from CVs which are a complete trainwreck and a few premiums that they probably don't want to change for financial reasons, the game balance isn't that bad.

 

To be honest, I'd rather they left things mostly alone, because WG's balancing changes tend to just wreck  completely.

dunno... I noticed how few balance changes there seemed to be as well, but I'm not sure I mind... part of the reason conveniently already mentioned by @Uglesett right above

Still got dem premium ships to arrive, like miss borodino and poltava.

 

not too mention slava and any bigger than yamsushi gun ships they eventually decide to add.

 

a bit too quiet too be honest. World of tanks is going mental on russian heavy autoreloader doe.

Well there are balance changes and BALANS changes....

 

A genuine balance change was raising the citadel on the Conqueror for example - quite a dramatic change in one go but probably necessary. Not sure it was needed for the Lion or Monarch - but hey...

 

WG particularly specialise in BALANS changes - for example by making the Kremlin shells do a teeny weeny bit less damage.

 

The Smolensk is likely to receive similar BALANS in the form of having it's torpedo reload nerfed by 10s, the Stalingrad will have it's funnel armour reduced by a few mm and the Sinop will have the turning radius of it's secondary batteries reduced by 5%.

Other than tier 4 CV's, balance is really quite good. And my gut feeling is that WG wants to keep it steady until the submarines arrive. It will then be like the early patches after CV rework.

For the same reason WG might live with the CV's being what they are in tier 4. If CV's are supposed to be the counter to submarines, then WG needs a CV population.

We can all laugh with it, but it's not too far off from the truth... After this season of Clan & Ranked, I can see the Kléber getting YueYanged by the nerfhammer. But Smolensk, Moskva or Kremlin are going to be considered just fine.

Yeah the object 752 i think and then another 3 russian heavies with dual barrels but basically function like autoreloaders but with the ability to double shot.

Lets hope wows doesn't turn into the same crap, but alas its not promising! Soon we will have premium shells with +100% pen?

ikr lol, the object 752 has already gone through 5 iterations and maybe another 1 or 2.

 

But yeah pretty bonkers atm, even rumours of ATGMS and japanese TD line coming (latter very likely, former i have no clue might just be that a rumour).

Oh yeah the prototype of object 279 the object 279E, the regular version would have insane armour if it was ever put into the game.

 

Just remembered they still have that turret russian TD at tier 10 thats still in limbo lol.

 

Unless russia has lots of 'projekts' lying around then i doubt it but still, you have slava, borodino and poltava all in testing atm.

On top of that, they are communicating with us. In the CV thread, there was a post calling the class fine for the most part, and we got an extensive reply on 'Russian bias'. I don't agree with those answers, but I appreciate their willingness to interact and summarize their view of the situation.

Change that fortified Conq as long range HE slinging jackass, because any kind of brawling and she goes back to port faster than Yamato.

Which may or may not indicate WoT will go full War Thunder, throwing balance, or even balans out the window and turn towards "play flavor of the month or not at all" when it comes to top tier content.

Even if they introduce smoothbarrels and ATGMs as tier 11+, it will be a spit in the face for everyone wanting to be "competitive" by collecting relevant tier 10s.

Yeah i dont see how they can balance ATGMS against tanks below tier 10 (nevermind some of the ww2-isk tier 10 tanks themselves).

 

have you seen the russian premium KA-50 helicopter? the thing is so broken it can kill anything outside of render range and not even the new radar missle guided SPAA systems can lock and fire that far. Bloody rediculous.

 

i left when i still had miss tiger 2 lol. now theres bloody abramas flying around.

German destroyers need some buffs, khabarovsk needs buffs, seattle needs buff, italian cruiser i believe need a reload buff and some ships need nerf:kitakaze for example!
