Captains! :Smile_bajan2:

We are continuing to update the maps and Ports so that they conform to the new lighting model and enhanced HDR technology. In Update 0.8.10, the visuals of the Solomon Islands, Ring, New Dawn, Hotspot, Two Brothers, Shards, Estuary, Haven, Archipelago, and Land of Fire maps; and Ocean and Saint Petersburg Ports have been improved.

The special visual style of the  VII Eastern Dragon,  VII Southern Dragon, and ARP ships has been singled out as a separate permanent camouflage providing standard combat bonuses. It's also possible to mount special upgrades and other camouflages, with the exception of permanent ones, on these ships. When you hide ships’ special exteriors in the Additional Content settings menu, this camouflage will be demounted.

The gun sight reticule has been switched to utilize new technology, which opens the doorway to future changes in the game. Its visuals now look neater and cleaner.

List of changes

  • Removed horizontal lines spreading from the the ship to the horizon.
  • Removed two vertical lines from both sides of the reticule.
  • Removed armament angle values from the sight reticules for certain torpedo launchers and guns.
  • Stopped the reticule shaking that occurred when you turned the battle camera within a range between the ship and the horizon. Now, the reticule will always be positioned in the center of the screen.

Th new lighting looks rather hard and is not pleasing to see. A toggle to revert to the old style of lighting is direly needed.

Guys @WG, you could have provided more than 3 (three!) faces for the Italian commanders! I'm happy the italian cruisers are here but ... c'mon this is (should) not the Clone Wars at sea!

GAmma is completely changed: now in Port you can't even distinguish which Signals are checked as yellow is almost white! Too bright too lighter! Bring back the gamma it was before!

Even changing and lowering the Gamma in Settings doesn't change that much! Too light!!

TY!

UPDATE: Problem is pretty serious as in the screen posted: grey areas are all overexposed on ships, containers and so on... Give me back my gamma!

Again the changes messed up sound, I hear no gunfire now. It was fine previously. Also the game seems slower. Plz stop 'improving' stuff. AND DONT CHANGE MY SOUNDS EVERY TIME.

Thank you

The lighting is worse than ever before.

Everything in port looks way too dark and when you switch the view to open a container everything is way too bright (see overexposed screenshot above, by @RedAnark)

I don't remember anyone complaining about the lighting. Yet, WG decides to "improve" it and messes it up completely.

Same happened with the sounds.

Instead of fixing problems you have, you're creating new ones which were never present in the first place.

On certain maps and spawns lighting has always been an issue. It shouldn t be that one team plays at a disadvantage due to the lighting being too bright to see what shell type the other team is using or having a harder time to see where those ships are going. Key areas or cap position don t change and therefore key areas that need to be taken or held don t..but lighting often makes it unnecessarily difficult for one of the parties to identify what kinda shells the enemy is firing. Overall, it s just too bright and playing against the sun is clearly a disadvantage. This isn t some aerial combat where u wanna make use of that as the caps etc stay the same.
