I always wonder, when people suggest an ELO system, if they ever look up how this systems really works and is calculated?! Just look at Wikipedia...   The ELO-system is a system to value the strength of single "entities" playing against in only 1vs1 matches. Chess may be the most known application for that system. The question is now: How to modify an ELO to WoWs where you have teams playing against other teams consisting of 12 individual players. And yes, I know that there are team-based ELO systems too (like lesser known in Football as well). But in those cases the ELO-value is completely bound to the name of the team and not to the various players playing in this team. You could switch all players in a team but this wouldn't affect the ELO value of said team.    So the already known team ELO doesn't fit to WoWs, because in random the teams have always different compositions. So, there are no teams to stick a ELO value on. You are looking for a ELO system based on individual players playing in a match team vs team. How can such a system work? Will you determine a single (one time) team value based on the 12 player values? Doing this for both teams. Calculate the new numbers and then? How is the freshly calculated team number transfered to the 12 individual players?       The those hard to answer question above leave out the one most single question at all: How to determine a ELO value for a single player? This ELO value should be based on what?!
