Hello everyone!

I have posted my suggestions in other topics before, but I think these options should be considered in a separately topic as well. Here are suggestions that Yugoslav destroyers could consider to add to the European technology tree.

Royal Yugoslav Navy

Yes. Under the contract of the Little Entente, Škoda was supplying the Royal Yugoslav Navy (and Royal Yugoslav army and Royal Romanian army) with artillery weapons.

Formally battleship Jugoslavija (ex-Viribus Unitis) wasn't in the Royal Yugoslav navy because the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenians was proclaimed December 1st, 1918.

They're all good ships. Split is especially interesting because she started off as a French design - the resemblance to Le Fantasque is obvious - and ended up looking like a cross between Blyskawica and T-61 with American weaponry. I think I'd like the original design, tbh - Blyska guns on a French hull sounds quite attractive.

They might be a tier too high. They probably could be balanced better at T5 & T6.

Other than speed the Jervis would eat them up at T7, let alone the Blyskawica, Haida or Z39. Better lined up against T22, Acasta and Icarus.

Otherwise they look a great addition to the game.

@OP pravo tako :cap_like:

I d like them in game, maybe make the guns 139mm so they can benefit from BFT and AFT and consumable wise... IDK MBRB and TRB exchengable at slot 3 if they remain in purposed tiers, creeping smoke gen slot 2 and DWT so they are not OP against other DDs

JRN would be super if it comes into the game.

Druže Tito approves this.

:cap_cool:

Bdw, Split can be made like HSF Harekaze, one hull as proposed and a second hull as construced.

Maybe, but Split is modeled after Le Fantasque and has been with him for a generation. While Dubrovnik is very similar to Błyskawica (in a 1929 offer, company Samuel White offered a plan the same as Błyskawica, and Yarrow Shipbuilders offered a plan for a destroyer like Dubrovnik, Yugoslavia chose Yarrow Shipbuilders because it was better for them).

These are the reasons why I think Dubrovnik should be tier 7 as Błyskawica and Split tier 8 as Le Fantasque.

I think they'd be fine at VI and VII. Dubrovnik is rather German with those heavy 5.5 inch cruiser guns , the 120mm guns on Beograd would be punchy enough with stats quite similar to the Bofors 120mm on Blyskawica.

*Information and fan fact*

The Škoda 140mm guns on the destroyer Split was with automatic chargers.

Rate of fire on Škoda 140mm on Dubrovnik was 6 grenades per minute, because they haven't automatic chargers, but Škoda 140mm guns on Split had them, and rate of fire was much higher.

I hear you both, it is just that they as a whole don't carry enough guns to be Gunboats.

T7

Blyskawica has 7x120mm Bofors

Z39 has 4x150mm

Haida has 6x120mm + 2x102mm

T6 Icarus 4x120mm (& struggles)

T5 Acasta 4x120mm

Split 5x140mm

Dubrovnik 4x140mm

Beograd 4x120mm

(IRL these 140mm guns had a ROF of 5-6 rounds per minute. I can't quickly find any references to Skoda 120mm)

Torpedo wise all these lay up to 5 torpedoes.

Split does seem to have reasonable AA in the form of the 40mm Bofors but I can't see that the main guns were dual purpose, so we are talking about mid & close range AA in the same way as the Z39.

Yes these ships COULD be introduced at Tiers VI through VIII but they would be an uncomfortable fit and would need to depend on a gimmick to balance. We don't really need more gimmicks.

As Completed she had 4 × single 127 mm (5 in)/38 caliber Mark 12 naval guns. The US destroyer guns with a RoF of 15 rounds per minute.

I can't see any reference to Autoloaders in Wikipedia - sorry.

English Wikipedia is not the best. These guns weren't mounted because the Italian army captured the ship that was under construction, only hull was built.

In various forums there is information gathered by people from Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia and Slovenia that speak about many data that is difficult to find because there is no mistaking the literature.

Spoiler

Rate of fire of Škoda 120mm guns is greater than 10 grenades per minute, and these guns had semi-automatic chargers.

I remember having suggested something like that, though it dates back, like, far back ^^"

Probably a bit obsolete.

Interesting, it says on Wikipedia:

5x1 Bofors 40mm AA guns

4x1  Zbrojovka 15 mm AA macgine guns

But, it says on Navypedia (and forums):

5x2 Bofors 40mm AA guns

4x2  Zbrojovka 15 mm AA macgine guns

But, Bofors 40mm AA guns need to be twins, like a Bofors 40mm on Beograd-class destroyers.

One more thing: Torpedo tubes, on Wikipedia, Navypedia and forums it says: 2x3 533mm Torpedo tubes, but on draft one of torpedo tubes is in center, but other is on right side of the hull. In that case is impossible to be 2x3, only 3x2 533mm Torpedo tubes or 2x2 + 1x3 533mm Torpedo tubes.

I read in one forum that the Yugoslav drafts of Split were destroyed during WW2, but somewhere French drafts still exist. The question is where are these French drafts.

Indeed so. But it's all fairly balanced. For Dubrovnik I think you'd be looking at around 2200-2400 per shell HE damage on a 7-7.5s reload....IJN style. I've always found German DDs to promise much with their big guns but not deliver... this one could be different.

For me, Škoda guns are very specific and interesting. :cap_rambo::Smile_medal:

Meanies.

I would hope that they would turn up as part of a Mediterranean/Southern Europe line of destroyers. Northern Europe would be the Swedes, Poles, Norwegians and Dutch; Southern Europe the Greeks, Austro-Hungarians, Spanish, Yugoslavs, etc. There are plenty of ships in lots of different styles. This would also enable WG to create Black Sea and Baltic lines for their Russian and Soviet ships (as they are already doing).
