ST - Co-op matchmaking, 14 Ranked season and other improvements

The matchmaker for Cooperative battles will be updated in 0.8.10. Battles will be fought in the "9 vs 9" format, and in case of a team not being filled with players, the additional bots will be more diverse. A larger number of ships will make battles more intense and will enrich the game experience.

 

Ranked season 14, beginning in the middle of Update 0.8.10, will be fought on tier X ships in a new format of "8 vs 8". There will be no more than 1 aircraft carrier per team. The main reward remains unchanged - up to 5 500 steel.

 

According to your feedback, the special visuals of the Eastern Dragon, Southern Dragon and ARP ships will become a separate permanent camouflage. They will have standard combat bonuses. Also, other camouflages and special upgrades may be mounted on these ships. If the additional content settings menu is used to hide these camouflages, then they will be dismounted.

 

We continue to work on the game's visuals and tech aspects.

  • The maps Solomon Islands, Ring, New Dawn, Hotspot, Two Brothers, Shards, Estuary, Haven, Archipelago, and Land of Fire, as well as the ports Saint Petersburg and Ocean are updated for the new lighting model.

  • The aiming reticle will utilize new technology, the same as the minimap starting from Update 0.8.5. This will help us to introduce improvements to the game in a more efficient way.

A really nice change, even if the economy of the COOP mode doesn't change it will enhance the mode a bit more.

That's a really great change, a lot of people have those semi-premiums and don't play them. Or even had sold them...

Will the new tech be compatible with existing one? Because that could kill off all of the mods that change the aiming sights.

Will the number of CVs be mirrored, or will it be possible that only one of the opposing teams will have a CV and the othew won't?

Cvs will of course be mirrored.

 

I haven't seen any news about changes to Ranked - cv - starsaving which means, if unaltered, cvs will continue to slow the progression for all other classes. And there's still an issue going into a semi-competitive mode with a 50% chance of having completely different types of battle. Removing the star saving capability of cvs would at least let them focus more on support rather than gathering xp.

 

I'll have another break this season.

Nice, i love the new lighting system, feels much more realistic.

Wait what?

No. 

CVs generally wont be #1 in XP, but if they are they deserve star saving just as bad as anyone else. CVs dont hinder other classes progression, since there are no 100% CV players. 

Its just moving from 7vs7 to 8vs8 that you need to worry about, not about CVs

Ok. More targets and more diversity. Sounds good to me for when I use co-op to quickly finish missions.

We really need more "real ranked" (as in: not sprints) at lower tiers. Always having those at T-X or T-IX is getting boring.

How about a T-V or T-VI season for once?

That's great news.

It never bothered me much that they were not able to mount proper camos but this change is still very welcome.

Then also pls make the bot not lose if they reach 0 points. Makes no sense to add more ships if you don't have the time to sink them.

How will the "mercy-rule" be handled?

Will it be done away with?

Will both teams start with more points?

Will both teams start with one cap in possession on those 3-cap maps?

Will losing ships impose a smaller points-penalty?

 

Because if none of the above, this will lead to many games ending with 2 or 3 bots still alive instead of like now, with 1 or 2 bots still alive.

Mostly good things this time for a change.

My only complaint is ranked being again at T10.

Seriously, WG, you guys should evolve your economical model beyond 'push everyone to tier 10'

Coop is not intense most tier X coop battles seem to end in under 5 minutes the worst I saw was 3 22 seconds and the game was over. All the extra ship will do is put an extra Yolo torp DD in the team so between them the Smolensk and Worcester game is over very quickly. You need to work on the AI Make the bots use hydro and radar when they are detected not when miles away a lot of games there can be 2 bots left to kill and game is over
