[P0RT] Admiral_H_Nelson Players 3,938 posts 23,206 battles Report post #1 Posted October 10, 2019 What do the think-tank on the forum think are good skills for my Zao/Atago captain? I can think of 15 points that suit my playstyle, but I am really, really unsure about the last 4 points. My current thinking is………. 1-Priority Target 2-Expert Marksman; Adrenaline Rush 3-Superintendent; Demolition Expert 4-Concealment Expert The level 3 skill "Vigilance" is popular according to "Ship comrade" - but what do you do with the remaining skill point? Buffing AA skills doesn't seem an effective use of the spare points since Atago/Zao are not the strongest cruisers in that area. Some people may suggest an unconventional use of the 4 points to select Radio Position Finding. Any suggestions on how to use the point will be respectfully appreciated. RPF helps when you need to be the scout and helps throw some surprising torps. EL is recommended to actually make it easier to use AP, as Atago and Zao can get much out of proper use of AP.
[-OOF-] ollonborre Beta Tester 2,598 posts 12,758 battles Report post #3 Posted October 11, 2019 I run PT, AR, EM, DE, SI, CE and RPF. This used to primarily be my clan wars setup but I have stuck with it in randoms aswell as it works just fine. RPF is sometimes of meh value as you are not exactly a DD hunter early on but it does help vs cruisers with slightly worse concealment or when a hungry BB lurks around the corner. The rest is just a standard heavy cruiser build.

Mainly because it's a general purpose random build, and most casual CV's can be made to go away with some DEFAA and sectoring. Also tge captain is mainly used in the Atago these days, where BFT helps, even if ever so slightly. (plus I only use the torps opportunistically, so I don't take issue with the reload) Apart from that, it's a build that generally works and I'm satisfied with.
