A heavy cruiser linevwith only hydro & repairs. That wont do well. It seems most similar to DM, with a tremendously long reload , less stealth and a consumable less

Looks like they want those ship to rely highly on Belt armor, speed is average, but turning circle and rudder shift time are low, it could work if they give it British CL acceleration. The 25mm plating won't be forgiving tho, if you play against BBs that aren't tools, you'll have to be careful, because 15" ships like Alsace and Bourgogne will feast on them.
The guns of the T9 et T10 seems able to hit hard.

Finally no russian paper fantasy ships that are completly balanced. Looks interesting and i'm looking forward to it, but the range + rld time seems quite meh. Also only the option to mount hydro and heal with a lackluster of radar or anything else seems in the current meta.....some kind of....strange.

WIP-Paper-Stats looks like average/weak sauce. My first thoughts...

Moskva: 3x3 220mm, 10,4s Reload and 19,44km range (radar)

Henri IV: 3x3 240mm, 13s reload and 19,08km range (speed and reload booster)

So whats the point of the british CA line? Super armor with no citadel?

Unlike Moskva and Henri they get two things, Concealment and, the British Heal

And they could be good firestarter (for example.: Zao 19% firechance and 52 rpm, Goliath 48rpm and 21%)... I am curious if it works. They are in my opinion more interesting than italian CA because i think SAP will be average to garbage.

DPM almost equal to ZAO with better fire chance. Maybe range instead of reload modul...

@Tanatoy Is it just missing but only the T10 has secondaries in the stats and none of the others despite them having 102mm or 113mm dual purpose guns and also there are no stats listed for the range, reload or shell info for said secondaries?

Oh my god are these ugly! :cap_fainting: Basically what I'd imagine brutalist architecture applied to warships would look like: ugly steel monsters. Even british BBs look refined in comparison...

Now that I got this first impression off of my chest, gonna study the stats in more detail.

T10 guns look like theyre just straight up inferior to Zao other than 2% extra fire chance and 150 extra AP damage. They do turn twice as quickly as Zao which is an interesting feature, 10°/s turning is quite fast on a CA (The fastest of any t10 CA infact) but 800m turning with 12.5s rudder shift matches the performance of Hindenburg.

The tier 10 looks pretty hideous, not sure why they allowed that barbette for the B turret but oh well, judging by the size of it the less surface area at this point the better. The citadel appears to be quite low though, barely peaking above the waterline in the center.

I'm interested to see exactly how their inflexible armament and maneuverability work out in randoms.

-Didn´t know Ohio is Russian (Better accuracy than Yama + Legendary Mod).

-And Bourgogne is Russian too?

-At least the Russian cruiser Henry IV finally got nerfed, that thing was op.

-Btw what´s with Harugumo or Conqueror? I heard/read on forums that many players (apparently) left the game b-c of these.

-And oh how many reports did i get back in the day when the Russian cruiser Minotaur was introduced...

No, just joking; these are fantasy paper ships which are NOT Russian, therefore it´s ofc ok to have them in the game :cap_like:

Cute. That's the slim sister of the Warspite. But on her the "head" looks a bit  unproportional^^

I love that. We have already spotted the resemblance of Goliath to a well known brutalist Motorway service station on the M6, and this is a good thing.

These are paper ships that were well within the capabilities of wartime British shipyards. Surrey was cancelled as a gesture to arms control in the 30s, the rest were planned but not built because it was more important to have lots of small cruisers (and Vanguard).

The gun range looks a little anaemic on the Counties (but then they, correctly, have spotter planes). Tier IX and X probably shouldn't have them if we're being historical about it - they wanted the space for radar and more AA.

The 'BB only' radar idea from the Russian BBs might be worth revisiting with these ships, given their roles in the sinking of Bismarck and Scharnhorst.

Oh, and HMS Drake is still Devonport. Duke names would be better and would continue the tradition of CLs being named after places. Antrim or Argyll?

I do like these Ships the stats look good and they seem like they will play as good Heavy Cruisers.

Thee only thing that is a bit of a shame is the T10 with its 4x3 armament when there was a design for a 3x4 or Three Quad 9.2inch turrets and i feel that would be a more unique design for the T10 Heavy Cruiser but i am hoping you might make that a Coal ship later down the line because i would assume it would take a lot to remodel the ship with three Quad turrets instead of four triple turrets.

But overall these look decent and i can not wait for them to be in game.

So the premium London gets smoke and a heal?

Seal clubbing fun!

London kinda reminds me of the original Exeter. Smoke, heal, hydro, HE and torps in one package. Only London has an additional turret and is one tier higher.

Yeah, I expect she'll need nerfs.

:Smile_teethhappy: That's awesome. But I agree, their looks are fine. It's at the very least a distinctive line and quite different from fluid french and italian cruiser lines and well balanced german one.

My comment was targeted towards Invicta´s comment, nothing against Brit CA´s in the game. In fact it is about time we get them, and as a cruiser-main i am very happy about the two upcoming cruiser-lines.

I was pointing out the hypocrisy of the westerners (which i am too) which are somehow fine with paper- and op-ships as long as they are not Soviet.

For example the Bourgogne is ridiculous but i never saw a thread demanding her nerfed or removed. Napoleum good, Stalinium bad.

There are lots of balancing mistakes in the game and no-one like those.

"Russian bias" is a bit of a Wows meme (and largely unfair, although WG have got a bit enthusiastic with some of those BBs).

Overall though I think this line and the Italian cruisers are a nice mix of creative designs within realistic boundaries.

Well at least the ships are not too overloaded with gimmicks that do more harm than good for example the Italian cruisers, for example I was really looking forward to the Italian cruisers when first announced, but when the first stats came out with all those gimmicks I immediately lost all interest exactly like with the RN BBs when they were turned into inaccurate Flamethrowers completely the opposite of the Warspite almost exactly like how the new Italian cruisers are the complete opposite in play-style to the Duca D'Aosta. At least with these RN CAs I at least see that they have a reasonable starting point to further balance rather than being a complete lost cause from the get go with the gimmicks...

There is one very simple reason why very strong and yes, sometimes even OP, ships from countries like Great Britain, USA, France or even Japan can be judged more leniently than overperforming soviet ships: These other countries actually had historically significant navies.

One additionnal reason for the hate: Oftentimes these soviet monsters were added in the game before first lines from other more important navies were added.

Just as an aside, most ridiculous BBs for their tier right now imho are Kremlin, Vladivostok, Imperator Nikolai, Giulio Cesare and Musashi (notice the prevalence of one nation...).

Most ridiculous cruisers (at high to mid tiers): Smolensk, Stalingrad, Colbert, Belfast (again one nation has several contenders...)

Only in DDs I see a different main offender: Kitakaze. Then there's a plethora of really strong and not very healthy ships where it's difficult to pick just a few worst ones (Friesland, Benham, Neustrashimy, Black, Somers, Kamikazes, T-61, ...).

So yes, I'm very sensitive to seeing any soviet ship doing well as it by far wouldn't be the only one.

As a last aside, notice that from that previous list, the only ships that actually never existed are soviet - and Kitakaze. All others were at least built. Yeah, what a coincidence.

That does not make any difference in a game.

Finally no russian paper fantasy ships that are completly balanced.

Yes i approve too but i'm SO disappointed for this ships :/
I hope to see more WWII ships up to tier 8
! And not much prototypes like tier 7 to tier 10. :/
I know the Surrey class excist but not with this superstructure.. And start the new branch on tier 4 with Hawkins.
And after this creat tier 5 to tier 8 included.
- York Group tier V, - London Group tier VI (ok here), - Norfolk Group Tier VII, - Kent Group tier VIII. Classified here on according tons !

And for me, better on WWII and confrontation with others ships (German like Hipper class or Bismarck)
