In port "Community Chat" has been broken for months now...

Hi all,

 

In port "Community Chat" has been broken for months now...

 

 

Our Clan "SCRUB" has so called "Community Chat" named "The Scrub Community" where all our friends can meet (including our "SNUBS" partners).

 

 

But ever since the summer this chat has been acting totally erratically...

 

 

For example we had all (and I mean all) people listed in the "Community Chat" as present while, in fact, only some of them were actually there (i.e. we had 50+ people listed at some time).

 

Now we have listed just one (1) or two (2) while, in fact, there are 5-10 of us and we can see us writing but we can't see us listed as present in chat.

 

 

Does anyone else experience such chat behavior in port for "Community Chat"?

 

Any other clan with similar setup?

 

 

BTW, @MrConwaycan you please check with your tech guys?

Yes and Yes,

 

the Clanchat is broken showing me 25 New Messages but at least the Members online.

And i am alone in the Community Chat but thats for everyone and its frankly a really annoying as you can click that away just to find it renewed when returning from battle. -.-

This is what we see for months now - please HELP !!!

 

 

As you can see the "SCRUB Community" lists just the player itself (me in my case) and the Deputy Commander (@Loran_Battle) who is currently NOT OnLine at all - we simply don't see each other there!

I agree the clan chat is well bugged at the moment.

The old messages come and go. 

It rarely shows who is online.

 

(And I thought that it was just our clan, well the chat messages anyway.)

And I had such high hopes for the fixing of the ui, but the lockups seem to be coming back/progressively becomming worse now and I have (once again) started to avoid being a division leader because of it.

How to define when a WG bugfix will be implemented, a foolproof method.

Case A) Does it affected monetized content and/or can it be monetized? 
=> Fixed overnight

 

Case B) Does it affect how battles are played, but can't be monetized?

=> 6-8 months

 

Case C) Is it part of the general UI with no bearing on battles?

=> lol

I know that you are busy,  but cant you find a dev to look into this?

Don't know if it is outsourced, but it runs on completely different servers.

You could block port 5222 and port 5333 in your firewall and turn completely invisible for the port-chat, but still play normally.

I knew that they were on separate servers (at one time few months ago the chat kept reloading whilst game run normally) but that info about outsourcing was the first for me...

Well... what can I say...

 

Nope... it is still broken... it now again shows everyone who logged in at some time regardless if the are currently OnLine or not...

This is how chat looked like on very very early Saturday morning (2019-11-02):

 

 

As you can see I am the only one OnLine in Clan chat (i..e as it should be) but the "Community Chat" is 100% filled with ghosts (i.e. this NOT how it should be) - there I am as well the only one OnLine!

 

 

This bug is really really getting me...

It's a real shame that WG can't work on it's community tools and features a bit more. Look at WoT, the same chat system since beta and it's utter rubish used to send saucy messages after a battle or spam general chat and get bannsmacked by a mod if one is present.

It isn't WG, its outsourced to a 3rd party company - given that WG have no money I doubt they can afford to pay them to fix it atm.

We know this situation isn't great - our apologies.

 

The bug is in our backlog, but we hope to have it addressed within the next few updates. To fix it will require an update of the entire chat backend, which is why it has taken some time.

Well, we've been waiting for better chat system since closed phase

 

2020 year of the chat?

Glad to hear that and thanks for answering. Hopefully soon, because we were using the community chat in order to get people together, make divs ect... but this bug did the opposite ... most people left the channel.

 

I know we could use Discord... but most ppl find in-game tools more ... convenient to use.

Outsourced or not, they could make their own or find some better 3rd party. They develop a freaking game, developing a chat system is way harder I guess...
