Suggestion: give beta testers a percentage of accrued xp as free XP

Would it be possible to give all players who participated in the closed beta test a percentage of the xp they accrued as free XP, ready to be used on any ship?

Perhaps up to a certain maximum, as some people have already unlocked just about everything?

It would make it less of a grind to unlock all ships yet again and would allow us to have more mixed battles at the start of open beta.

I've heard suggestions/rumours about a free premium ship, but depending on which ship that would be, I might actually like free XP a lot more.

 

BTW, will free XP from WoT or WoP be shared with WoW?

IE, is it wise to start grinding in WoT, so you'll have XP to expend once WoW reaches open beta?

After the reset we pretty much have the release where we already have to pay if we want to progress easily and everyone should have even start. You reward will be low tiered premium ship + you tested the ships and know which ones you like/dislike, so there will be no need to waste time and test.

Well, the whole point of this test is to actually gather data about the ships in the game. Once OBT happens there won't be need for this.

 

I'd also like to go quickier through the trees once on OBT but just look at how the other WG titles need you to grind for everything.

You could just skip Beta then you won't have to grind at all.

You forget about the premium ships and the pre order ships. I remember the first few days after WoT release. 15vs15 on the gift tanks (tier 5), 15 vs 15 tier 8 (premium tanks) and some mixed games with tier 5 6 and 8

After few days the guys with premium tanks just converted exp + they had credits so they started playing tier 6-7 regular tanks.

 

Back then I was optimist that you can really play without spending euros and make money with arty (was possible back then)  So the MM will be fucked up anyway, a lot of exp will be converted.

This is a closed beta test. If normal game mechanics were set then we'd be in CBT for quite a while waiting on a decent pool of players at high tier to gather results at that level.

If you don't wish to grind 'again' then you can always stop playing in CBT and wait till OBT starts. From the very start of CBT we've been clear that all progress would be wiped when it switches to OBT.  This isn't a head start so please don't treat it that way.  What may or may not happens in other games has zero relevance here. Treat OBT as your headset as OBT is basically a soft launch and there will be no wipe after that.

No one should start with free xp as any of us that are testing will already gave an advantage when OBT start through our knowledge gained in Alpha

There'll be no xp for us or anything other than a reward ship. For those of us with preorder packages we get those ships as well as any CBT reward ship.

I think prior experience and knowledge of how a game operates is by far the best buff any of us can receive at the moment, I know this may sound twee, but I would rather enter into a game knowing how it works, that fecking about trying to figure the game out!

I agree. I didn't join CBT to get additional rewards. The reward was the game itself. If you choose to grind, as I did as well, it was partially to test the economy and to test the higher tier ships as well. Needless to say I hated the higher tier ships but lolololol it's my opinion.

Just my analysis of free exp. I managed to hit tier 5 without monetary issues within a day of nonstop playing. On all classes. Except bb. Bb sucked for me cause I sucked. Any amount of free exp shouldn't have a too huge effect if it only hits tier 4, and will amount to a problem above tier 5. And from 1 to 4, seriously, I would love to drive a st Louis around in open beta. The number of seals.... I mean, new pkayers, will be a fun... I mean refreshing experience. XD

I don't care about free exp, but I am not happy with the prospect of grinding through 3 tiers of ships just to have fun with basic CVs which have drasticaly different gameplay style than crusiers/bb/destro. For me those 3 tiers will be waste of time. Now it was not a problem since exp gain was increased, but in OBT I expect it to be kinda of an issue for me. Not a big one, but enough to complain a bit.

I just hope before OBT there will be premium carrier. Seaplane tenders like Chitose maybe for low tier CV play?

Tiers 1-4 aren't really a grind. With good play you should be able to get there in 20 battles at most.

Right now they are not. I don't know how progresion will look in OBT. It will be slower for sure. I am worried about that.

You missed my point. I am not worried about regrinding, I don't care about tier 8,5,6 whatever. I am worried about grinding at all for the change in the gameplay style.

Why do people think it's a race to tierX ?

Most low tier ships are hella' fun, and playing them won't feel like a grind at all. Looking at you, St Louis, you big silly floating death hedgehog.
