sorry its a link to another website but i thought this was worth at least making people aware, especially the devs.

TL:dr Basically Goons have invaded H1Z1 with 40k plus new players at the same time, in the article linked above they mention plans to move on to other games in the near future, the most note worthy part as it attains to world of warships is as follows :

FUTURE PREY: ONLY THE BEGINNING

Now that we know this can be done, think about the possibilities of attacks on titles like Elite: Dangerous, Star Citizen, World of Warships (when it has a clan system and metagame with consequential loss) and the like. We know we can do this, we know we can have a blast doing so, and now we know we can make a whole game freak the [edited]out whenever we come calling.

Let me just clarify my reason for posting this, it's not a doom say post ie: "RUN FOR  THE HILLS, THE GOONS ARE COMING" i honestly believe this could be a real boon for the games they target, a massive surge in new players is, I assume, not something any game developer would turn their noses up at provided they had the infrastructure in place to handle it without it impacting game availability and stability. This is merely something i came across that i thought was note worthy for any dev that may read this post. If they say they will come, then they will eventually arrive and the game needs to be ready to take full advantage.

See you all on the seas.

What a total headache to read. Kinda like a mix of "We are anunimuuuuus" with Chuunibyou.

I`m surprised they are not doing this with world of tanks instead, it would work much better for what they are proposing and they wouldn't need to wait for the infrastructure to be created (ie the world map and clans that wow doesn't yet have). Also, the big world of tanks clans would be a lot more upset about it, which is what the goons enjoy.

Bring it on, I say and lets rumble!

What are they exactly saying? I didn't get crap with all that pretentious language mixed in.

I'm not entirely sure how that's supposed to work in WoT/WoWS... I mean their tactic is usually to zerg people down with newbie stuff, no? You can't really do that in clan wars... So I'm not exactly sure what they are planning but if it makes them happy - have at it I guess.

Its not good for gaming to have these clowns around and they know it. They are parasites looking to ruin games for other people.

Hahahahahahaha. No. That old EVE cliché is well and truly dead.

Sorry, only goonies I know were those "loveable" nerds from that movie I saw when I was a kid .

I think that I am too old to know, please educate me.

So .. what are they going to do? Spam chat with angry messages? Boast about their numbers on the forums? Whine?

Hmmm, they must be in the game already then.

I guess these guys are aiming at the CW map (like in WoT)... but I have the feeling they have no clue how WoWS/WoT works. At least in random they will not be able to "establish camps on every map" and in CW they have to schedule attacks... so no open world stuff, like the goons normally do...

I would not give to much on this with regards to WoWS

Imagine 15 tomatos invading trying to land in Europe with tier 1 - 5 tanks... I bet every clan holding province on EU map is reeeeeaaaaaly terryfied right now. :P

It will take day or two before they give up and go somewhere else.

:teethhappy:

They can try in Africa but who cares what is going on there, probably some small meaningless African tribes fighting their bloody meaningless tribal wars over 20 gold.

If not this article nobody would even notice them, they pose no threat for anyone. Unless they`ll try to be deadly boring and spam landings every day, but still this would be nothing more than minor annoyment.

PATO tried a similar thing by spamming landings in WoT.

We all saw how that went :teethhappy:

In WoWs, a large influx of new players could cause some server load issues, but I would not mind having more xp pinatas when the game launches

Their only real 'strength' lies in numbers. I don't see this working in 15v15 random battles like we have in WoT/WoWS.

They usually rely on the metagame a lot, meaning for instance creating 100 affiliated clans in WoT (that's only 10k players, so 1/4th of their supposed 'force' according to the article). Most of these are cannon fodder, but they usually have a few 'elite' clans of their own, so what they could do is take a foothold on the map with 'elite' clans, switch personnel around between clans to make sure they reach some kind of critical mass and have enough of their affiliates on the map. Once they do, it's just a matter of overwhelming opponents with matchmaking conflicts, because, once again, their strength lies in numbers.

I'm not sure, however, that goons are the type to go through the leveling grind required to move up in tiers. As it stands now, I'm not too worried, even though I witnessed first-hand what they could do in EVE-O (although, to be fair, the CCP devs handed goons the tools to achieve what they did when they introduced all that Player-Owned Station/(Super)Capitals non-sense and made that game the pile of crap it is now - but that's just my personal opinion).

Disruptive behavior. In other words, their idea of fun is to ruin yours, whether you're a 'tryhard' (hardcore gamer) or a 'pubbie' (casual gamer) - and if you're not a goon, in their eyes you fall into either of these two categories.

They are a Alliance from another MMOG called eve online that heavily relies on trolling, meta (spies, destruction of rival alliances from within), abuse of exploits etc.

They got some big achievements this way and now they think they are the 4chan of MMOG.

Problem: They have no idea how WoWs or WoT work and think they can apply the same methods they used in eve online.

I would be more afraid of a 4th grade using DDOS attacks than those guys "ruining" WoT or WoWs.

Yes, pretty much.

But I dont think stuff like this will work in games that need skill, require months of grinding to get to high tiers and where people get banned for toxic behavior.

In eve you have game mechanics you can abuse and never loose progress or money, if you know how to do it, in WoT you simply loos everything if you troll to much.

EDIT: That beeing said, I realy like to see what they are going for, the tears from their victims will be glorious and it will spice up the already boring gameplay in WoT or WoWs.

Just saying, this might be the most fun we will have in these games for years to come.

I still don't know what they expect to achieve.

We already have our share of childish players trolling every day, and even if they have some great players, the average goon has trouble just following primaries and hit F1 in his drake.

Since here battles are balanced in tier and numbers, I don't know what they expect...

My guess is that they don't know how this game works.

They tried to swarm the gaijin space shooter sometime ago, but since it has mm and balanced matches, they left.

A rush of people with no idea how to play and think they're going to be able to troll us en masse? This will be fun!
