Since you otherwise give so little information: Judging solely by this partial screenshot: No - you're not supposed to counter this exact situation. At least not from where you're standing.

 

Maybe give a little more ... context? Where were you positioned relative to your team? What was shooting you? Was your heal on CD or not? How much HP did you altogether had left at that moment? How was the enemy positioned?

I was near a cap point, it was a choke point. On my right side there was a Kremlin and a Smolensk, and on my left there was this Buffalo who constantly shelling me with out giving me a chance to fight back.

I assume you were a BB and the ships you mentioned were all enemies? Sounds as if you just were out of position and payed the price.

And sometimes, yes you get the short end of the stick as it's a BB's job to sit there and just soak up damage while your team DPM machines should deal with the enemy ... at least in theory.

You re wasting your time. Probably mad at a cruiser that dared to lob shells over an island on his almighty BBabie that was supposed to counter all cruisers.

 

Frankly, 5 BBs per game is already too much, with all that supercruisers added. There should be a hardcap of max. 4 BBs per team.

Then you kill either the spotting unit or push around the island. Or you run away. Or if you play a ship that is able to mount a spotting plane you use that to shoot at the shots origin.

 

Sitting idle and complaining how unfair the game is to you will not solve your problem. Taking action will.

 

And if you are out of position and outnumbered, as @Allied_Winter suggests, then that hiding ship is your least concern and it might be a learn to play issue on your part.

 

So man up and provide proper context to your picture or we can't help you with your little rant.

i have a bit , sort of a love hate thing going on there , hate the torp spam , love teh gunboating. but my total lack of patience that gets me dead first in a BB.... well its not pretty in a DD ;) i think id do better if i just went afk for the first 5-7 mins

What sort of chance do you want? Maybe somebody can rig some code hack type thing if you say how you want it to work? Of course there is always the in-game hack of using the map, or the 'S' key?

Trust me this doesn't work. DD even with CV ( but less ) influence games a lot with even primary spotting. Knowing which ships go where from the enemy gives tactical advantage, this providing vision to team is as important as contesting caps. 

 

But if you say you get bored and thus make decisions resulting in you dying first in your BB... you will die much quicker in DD's. But it might teach you more patience

well i didnt say it was a good strategy, just that "I" might do better that way ;)

Its a large part of why i play CV's mostly they are active and involved from the start to end.
