Technical Improvements

Spotting and Detectability System

After receiving numerous requests from our players, we plan to introduce changes to the spotting and detectability system in Update 0.8.9.

Now, the penalty to a ship’s detectability after firing a shot will be reset 2 seconds after it leaves the enemy's spotting range. We've also added a period of guaranteed acquisition: if a ship is detected by an opponent, it will remain visible for at least 3 seconds. This change will allow us to eliminate cases when an enemy ship "flickers" at the edge of the observer’s spotting range, appearing on the map and disappearing from it in rapid succession.

Special ships

A new group of ships has been added, uniting the following categories:

  • Rental ships
  • Event ships
  • Early Access ships
  • Non-researchable ships without increased profitability
  • Cool 1

What about smoke and this updated spotting/detection scheme?

 

If I released a smoke and I briefly appear on the enemy's sight, will I be visible for the next 3 seconds despite being fully in smoke?

 

That would be a hard nerf for the DDs and CAs with smoke because many times you get detected and pop a smoke. Each second could be the last and having additional 3 seconds of being spotted while stopping in smoke (basically a stationary, easy target) would have a high chance of sending you straight to port...

 

I'm asking because I believe it's important and I see no mention of smoke (other than the new type for ITA cruisers)...

Hi Developers, 

 

is it only me or does it take longer for a target to get automatically focused without pressing the X key? I already dicovered this on the live server,  but I think it takes even longer on the PT server. I mean if you hover over a target until it gets picked up by the weapon focus. I think the old system was better, even though it sometimes picked up the wrong target when ships where close together.

 

That and the not displayed camos in the harbour are the only bugs I discovered. 

 

TWILIGHT MODE

 

Like the game mode twilight.....ok  depends on group setup. But as long as you have a cruiser and a DD (besides the Mutantovsk) evereything is fine. Russian DD is not good enough in my opinion, because U have to get too close to the target and die too fast if the team is gone. BUT --> Angler and Fossil rock every game. As BB depends collecting dirt is difficult and depends on dead Teammates or killing  in the exit zone. So I didn't really want to play them.  Also camping ships  at the exit zone can be very  frustrating. Full health nearly no dirt gathered and then killing all ships which played the game as you designed it. 

 

HALLOWEEN MODES

 

quite difficult but still better than too easy.  

 

 

Resume: Very compareable to the last halloween event.

I just installed the WoW TST and it tells me that my account is wrong, do I have to register on some official website?

do you have an invite for the submarine test on the TST?

I was hoping for a reply though. It's not like there are 1000 replies in this thread.
