Yeah... The secrecy and hope of hype around the birthday patch...

I have no idea what they hope to achieve with this... But the result is players frustration.

I am just one stupid event away from quiting. Which by the look of it might be Halloween. Already started to spend my half gaming time to the game I plan to switch...

... And if they fail to deliver a stupid event my premium time runs out in few months. Not planing to extend it further with submarines on the horizon, so when it runs out I am out also

why would you wait? Like really do you value your money more than you well being?

I do have games that I spend 1h in, and never play again, I never look at how much that game have costed me as it is unhealthy.

Regarding the patch, there will be the patch, then game will patch itself. One day or another makes no difference to me.

Good it is in middle of week, on weekends I would actually care more about that.

This is on the us site: image.png.fa44a581b571b4a391ec67b167464f

Those times are US aren't they Pacific Daylight and Eastern Standard. So the 16th is right for them as they update a day earlier than us.

Our update will be 17th with times quoted UTC or CET

Let's say that I am not frustrated so mutch, yet. Just making slow transition.

Else, I do not regret spending cash. It worth it, but do not see reason to keep it further.

And really do not get why all this secrecy around new stuff. Anyone have an idea why they do that?

Official WoWs Facebook says this:

"Please note that Server Downtime is expected on Monday, September 16th as we get ready for big things happening in 0.8.8.0!

Server Downtimes:
RU – 02:00 UTC
NA – 10:00 UTC
ASIA – 21:00 UTC
EU – 05:00 UTC"

If that's the order of the update, it should mean that RU, NA and ASIA are still on the 16th and EU is on the 17th.

This would also match the announced date on the Asian website (17th September, 05:00 UTC+8).

So the WGC dowloaded the "future update content" 8 days before the patch...

We usually get patches a day late, same thing with world of tanks.

I don't know why all i know is that we do.

I'd say they patch RU first, because they have fastest/easiest access to this server. Then they patch NA and ASIA, because they are small. EU last, because it has the most players and if anything goes wrong, the could react before patching their largest server.

Fair enough. Makes sense from an information system point of view.

Same date across the boards. My guess. Simply because Thursday is normally patch day but this is the birthday patch and usually any anniversary event last all week.

My WGC downloaded around 2.4 GB of data about three days ago if I remember correctly.

You know what really worries me about this.

Remember some of the previous 'big' updates we have had and how badly they were implemented. I recall servers being up and down more often than a *edit*

They are sending it out early to reduce the network load, and avoid a bottleneck on the actual patch day. If we all tried to download 2+ Gb on patch day I think the hamsters would demand more pay.

patchnotes are usually published on Tuesday, so only two days before the update (for us, one day for NA)...

Yea I get that but 2 things present themselves as wierd...

1. Yesterday was thursday as well and patch seems to have been ready monday

2. Since PN come out thuesdays when will we recive notes for this?

I mean the only reason coming to mind is if they planned it this week originally but postponed the patch a week cose of cb, I never before noticed the patch data coming in more then three or four days earlier and often only a day or two ahead
