So any attempt at realism is to be thrown out the window to make the game more vigorous and exciting by giving submarines unrealistically high speeds.

 

What changes to current ships would you like to see to make them more 'vigorous and exciting' for you?

 

300 knot Swordfish on H.M.S. Furious will be just fine for me.

Well. Imo the maps are too big. Its too easy to run or play safe. For more exitement, I say to remove the outer square around all maps. Effekively making maps 2-9 x B-I in size. :Smile_izmena:

Hmm, I kind of like the idea :cap_yes:. Cruisers and DDs can stay in the back and lob missiles with the same game mechanics as artillery in WOT, and BBs can be the one in front spotting :cap_book:

Cut down some of the things that slow the game down to a crawl. like DD's, make torps a skill based event rather than just spam spam spam untill they finnaly get lucky. maybe give them an actual CD so they need to think about it a bit. maybe remove the aimbot,  reduce torp damage to bow sections of BB's 

 

give large accuracy penalties to ships firing at targets they themselves can not see

Yup obviously the BBabies would be first to claim their gameplay is what is 'exciting, fast paced thrilling action'.

 

Then you get 12v12 BB's in Tears of the Desert EPICENTER and you expect an epic brawl, you even type in all chat: meet in the middle brave BB's no torp soup excuse!

 

So I died, then the match lasted 20 minutes and we won on points :Smile_smile:

 

If submerged subs went 9kts irl, and WG makes it 30, I want that same speed increase on my Kahabarovsk. So instead of what it does now without speedboost, 43kts, would be 129kts. Yeah that sounds immersive and FUN.

First step would be teaching players that it doesn't matter whether they survive or not if their team loses at the end.

You mean the class for cowards, with the armor, hitpoints and heal, and let's not forget range so you can sit in the back and snipe while you let your team die since you refuse to risk getting your paint scratched.

If you leave out the heal, it's basically that wankers class, you know, carriers, wanking in the back not risking anything but some plane losses. Yea, those pesky cowards.

 

Complaining about aim assist you sound like the kind of player who doesn't use WASD hacks, since if you did you knew that 'aim assist' for torpedoes only shows where the baby will be in a minute or more if he doesn't touch his keyboard. 

 

Complaining they 'don't flank' with CV meta is cringe worthy already on it's own. 

 

24 BB's on an epicenter map -> 20 minutes of camping, and people still cry it's destroyers which makes them kamp islands.

Actually this is an idea. Is there any content in 2018 and 2019 we would be missing? I sure as hell won´t be missing the Soviet paper BB line past tier 5...

you know, they did actually test missile DDs a while ago. Would it surprise you to hear they were Russian (some of the first concepts for the alternate line that ended up with Grozovoi at the top)? But apparently even WG decided that that wouldnt make for particularly good gameplay, even for a russian line... :Smile_teethhappy:

I´ll give you that. However Oktyabrskaya_Revolutsiya was actually built and fought in both World Wars I think it deserves it´s place in the game and it is at tier 5. Sovetsky_Soyuz could be tier 9 premium but others past tier 5 should be just deleted. This will never happen I know. :cat_bubble:

Well we have operations but I would love to see a Grand Operations mode. 

 

Where instead of just playing one operation and finishing, instead you go to a campaign screen. For example you could have a grand operation called "DDAY". 

 

1st mission would be escorting the convoy across the english channel. With the introduction of submarines this could fit quite well? 

 

2nd mission fighting off an enemy surface raider attack. Defend the convoy against air attack and enemy fast battleships (gnesenau, tirpitz ect)

 

3rd mission is supporting the ground invasion with actual DDay style landing craft hitting the beach. It is your job to provide naval bombardment support and screen against hostile DDs, aircraft and submarines. 

 

I think this would make the game more exciting, the developing gameplay aspect bring some excitement to the grind. See Battlefield 1 Operations for inspiration.
