And nobody ever sells something under its cost to make/ buy-in, even if its on sale. While this is true for digital items like this, saying nobody ever does even if it's on sale that means you don't know actual stores work. There is a point where keeping an item in storage on site or in a warehouse is getting too expensive and items are sold for less money than they were purchased/manufactured for for. For example with something I have experience in myself: In the clothing business this happens on a large scale, the costs of this are covered by items that did actually sell. Items are sold for 2× up to 10× the amount of money they were purchased for in able to cover all the costs.

On pricier items it might be something like 60 to 70 % of the cost meaning they can afford to give a sizeable discount and still break even. The biggest problem that is killing retail business is not necessary online shopping but VAT which effectively ties up a huge bundle in anything they stock. For digital goods like WoWS ships, they can probably calculate pretty accurately how much the design and testing process costs them, but how they actually spread the costs over the units they sell, no idea. They have some projected sales target or something. Stocking the ships they sell, won't cost them a penny, though.

[DMPVE] Fuchsgeist Players 237 posts Report post #54 Posted September 10, 2019 So WoWs EU discounted around 10% WoWs RU is down around 30% (which were already lower than EU to begin with) in comparison WoWP sliced the prices by about 50% in their EU premium shop for planes On Steam you could get discounts up to 75% hmm 🤔 Something is brewing...

I did but I stopped again after they recently made grinding a nightmare with the specialist introduction which affected even purchased premiums which they effectively nerfed by removing slots which you then could only get by grinding on each of them ... plus broken specialization modules etc pp a pity because it actually was quite fun But now with the split of WoT vs WoWs vs normal WoWP premium time, I decided to focus on woWs alone and skipped WoT & WoWP completely. A silly decision these premium time changes ... but that’s another story to rant about wish they would add a CooP mode like in WoWs then at least flying for fun would be still an option... no WoT, no WoWP and WoWs budget reduced since the CV clusterf... Due to steam regional pricing, wg shop is litterally 10 times more expensive for me during steam sale periods. I won't buy anything at all from wg shop except maybe %75 discounted premium time if they keep throwing that at my way.. Therefore, 3 euros discount over 30 euros doesn't mean anything at all... Apparently tinfoil hats are real... This is what happens when you openly expose shitty price policy of WG
