Right now they have no place to be sold, and most likely there are severe changes to AA or the CVs themselves coming up. Cvs are currently present in less than 5% of all battles- meaning they make up roughly 1 in 200 battles played. The stupid thing here is that the easy and straight forward way of addressing this is to revert AA to the 0.8.4 system. In 0.8.0 CVs were OP, in 0.8.2 things were starting to look fine, in 0.8.4 CVs were starting to become weak but still fine with some practice. Now, its a gimmick really.
