Chat ban system needs fixing. Fast.

Automatic bans are always one single day. Any ban longer then that has been applied by a Wargaming employee.

It is possible to black list forum members, I have never done it myself so I cannot say how too I'm afraid but the option is there, hope it helps.

When I started the game today the first message I recieved in port was about a player wishing for me to get cancer. I asked the player if he possibly sent that message to the wrong person and we talked about the problem he had with me until he excused himself. There is no reason to take such a message seriously on my side but it helps to talk about misunderstandings or to help the offending party to release their anger and to calm down for  better controlled future interactions.

I agree, but im a hypocrite so will end up swearing back (i get defensive, unless im in such a good mood or i geniunely don't care or if i know i f'ed somewhere for that response to be triggered).

Hey, same people for the post grinding coming here I guess.

Well, for the 3 days chat ban, if it needs human intervention dont think they spend much time on it. I'm pretty sure it's about confirming a parser bot that have flagged some banned key words in the user logs. Or something close to that.

It kind of keep the chat clean but has many other flaws.

In all the years I've been playing, I've only been chat banned once, and it was for calling somebody and idiot who kept blaming me for the team collapsing (he kept insisting I sat behind A the entire game when I actually spawned on C, and when my team abandoned it I kited away, dealing lots of damage in the process), and then complained about me kiting at range and not brawling 2 kremlins, a republique, and a stalingrad - in an Azuma.

 

At first I tried to explain to him that a) his impression of me being on A the entire game is wrong ("I saw you on A") and b) Azuma quite simply cannot fight close quarters, especially not vs. that force. He scored among the last, I forget my exact position but I was among the first three. Anyway, when he kept saying "I saw you on A" and "you should have pushed them (alone)", I called him an idiot.

 

The next day, I couldn't even log into the game - my account was suspended  completely. I filed a ticket (it's ridiculous to get completely banned for calling someone an idiot, this is what we have chat bans for). Fair is far, so while you guys failed hard for banning me for that, I will give props to support because I was able to play again (albeit chat banned for 4 days) within 5 min of me making the ticket.

 

Just saying this as an example - your banning system leaves a lot to be desired. Of course being extremely abusive, making racist, homophobic etc comments is unacceptable. However, in a game where random team mates fail as hard as they do, well.. I know I shouldn't insult anyone, and 99% of the time I refrain, but everyone can have a bad day when nothing works the way it's supposed to, then you log into wows, and you get nothing but bad teams. I don't think you should be instantly banned for 4 days if you let some steam out as long as it's been relatively mild (and tbh, while not exactly nice, calling someone an idiot who actually started the conversation by claiming wrong and, well, idiotic things is mild imho, and won't exactly kill them). Meanwhile people with 42% wr that always die in the first few min and then rage at the team in chat seem to be able to play and use chat just fine.

I've admittedly said plenty of things to get a legitimate chat ban on WoT/WoWs over the years and never have.  I got my first ban (4 days) two weeks ago and the ONLY thing I said all night was "Nice duel Monticello", mainly because I didn't know how to spell Montecuccoli on the fly and I had a very competitive 1v1 with one.  I still find it hilarious, though it does affect matches, where you can't state something like "Shimakaze is there". 

 

It brings to light the inherently weak reporting system that bans you from chat for silly reasons, while bots and AFKers run rampant.  Sure they maybe can't chat or get their little 57 exp a game from secondaries or spotting, but they're still allowed to show up game after game.  

 

Also, being a multi-language server, the in game click/F key commands are completely lacking.  Sure I can ping the map and "Request Support", "intelligence data", etc.  But why not at least be able to notify "DD here", "radar here" etc?  We can still spam for needing AA cover though!

If someone is constantly afk, he will only be able to play coop after awhile befor he gets his ban. 4 days chatbann needs human intervention so i doubt that your message was the reason to get banned.

13,000 games across 2 servers and all my comments are insults. Still never banned. Try to be objective and entertaining with your insults, and you should avoid a chat ban.

i play from 10 days and already have 2 times chat ban. I mostly say hi and talk with ppl and everyone just report u for no reason .. specially toxic ppl i get personal insults in private messages and then i have ban - why ? They send me crazy toxic crap . I mean my advice - do not use the chat at all ppl will just random report u for no reason. Chat is completly useless in this case. Dont use it at all. And if i get 2 bans from 10 days means only 15-20 ppl are enough to random report u. Thats really bad. This need to be increased at least to avoid the random fake report, and i will say for sure more than 50% even 60% are fake reports!

It was really weird for me why ppl dont chat at all in this game. They dont answer to nothing like some joke or something. Now i know why. I wont use chat anymore bec its totaly unfair getting message u got ban for chat abuse insults what ever! I did insult some ppl just it was just 3-4 times i was replaying to their low iq complaints and insults against me. And i get ban for that.. thats not smart!

I seriously doubt this, I am playing this game for years and have vented more then my share of steam in the chat as well as harvested salt in it and never got a day of ban...

What is a mystery for me is the length of the ban. Time after time i get 9 days, 14 days, 12 days, 5 days chat bans... It's not just increasing with every punishment, it's random.

dude u play 6 years and u doubt bec u dont just random chat like me. I was just chatting with ppl and like i said almost no one replay and like i said i know why already. They just dont want to get random ban like me its simple. Almost no one use chat each battle, they just report the ppl who chat no matter what. Try to chat like me 10 days in a row in All chat and u will see. No matter what u say they report u.

So.... I get a 3 day ban because I called a Zao, that never shoots at the enemy, torps my DD FOUR times and finaly succeeds to TK me an imb**** sc**b** and give his position to the enemy? And he gets 2 games pink which doesnt do anything.

The game is quite interesting, since it shows, that im actually one of the very few, that communicates positivly and effectivly with his teammates. Now you took that from me for 3 days. Well, Im just not gonna play then since I want to be able to COMMUNICATE in a TEAMGAME - or do you see this differently? Id also like  @Crysantos and @MrConway to have a look at the replay. You think this is ok? Im getting 3 days chat ban and this guy, who ruines the game for 11 people on his "team" walks away with 2 games pink?

yes dude but this is totally boring its team game play .. and its almost 2020 ppl like to communicate i like to chat with players having fun, not facing the screen like robot. In world of tanks for example u need ages to get ban chat no matter what u say bec like here most reports are fake. They even have ''fake report system'' but only on paper i totally doubt that but still better than here. If u are on my place and play 10 days and see no one chatting and wonder why , and then get 2 bans in 10 days - u know already why no one chat. Cant even say ''merry christmas'' u will get ban for that aswell.

You wont get reported for saying Merry Christmas if its Christmas, but people flooding chat with blithering are both annoying and distracting so that clogging the channel with random bs pisses people off and they report you getting you a ban, seems to me system works

They don't care about toxic gameplay in the slightest, which is the reason for most of toxic chat, which I guess includes your little quote there. But that kind of verbosity might hurt WGs little PR picture of the "little cute community for the laid back gamer" and/or hurt someone's specific feelings, and that might drive down potential sales. Now, that is something WG can't stand for...

 

Good luck in getting a reply. Even if you get one, it'll be "appropriate actions have been taken against the offending player" (you can't verify it, but how can you not trust us at weegee, we are all nothing but caring and love?) and "that doesn't mean your punishment wasn't deserved, cause two wrongs don't make a right" etc etc etc

 

- aka "move along, nothing to see here"
