bad analogy, if you go of on a player in your team or the opposing team you will get an instant Technical Foul if you play on any level that means something.

Seems you did not understand : When doing this analogy I am implying the real game environment we have in Wows (go re read to know what I mean or just think...). We are far from "any level that means something" when the lambda guy starts a game in random.

Doesn't matter what you think how far you are from meaning.

There is a saying with my people, rougly translated it goes like this:

You cannot win an argument with a mor:etc_swear: as he will pull you down to his level and beat you with experience...

But what if you do it on purpose. Going so bad down so you even surpass his level and be 10times worse back to him to catch him off guard? Just for the fun of it I mean.

I'm sorry but I must disagree with you. Saying that someone is a 'waste of space' is toxic.

The sentiment might be true with regards to gameplay, but nonetheless you need to find a better way of expressing that message without your frustration getting in the way.

What is the line?

1. "You're not helping the team"

2. "You're useless"

3. "you're a waste of space"

If you start with 1, and behavior doesn't change, you move to two, you get an insult back, you move to 3. The toxic behavior is the fact that they can't take advice and instead start insulting people who are trying to help them be less useless.

By moving to line 2 you have gone too far.

Would you say that, in all seriousness, to a work colleague?

If I am dependent on his work ethic for my own income, wouldn't it be stupid not to?

Then you would be in for a disciplinary in any organisation with a decent HR team.

You're making the wrong comparison, this co worker is costing the company income because he isn't performing his duties. Therefore him being told he is useless would not result in disciplinary actions against the one telling it, it's more like they would be taken at the person it's being told to if this telling him he's being absolutely useless isn't enough to get him to be productive for the company.

You would be the one with a disciplinary and possibly out for misconduct. More likely a written warning.

Your colleague would be in for a Performance Management programme that if they didn't improve then they would be out.

You're missing the fact it was already established it didn't improve, the guy's already fired probably from every job he ever had.

You think noticing and pointing out the lacking productivity of a coworker is misconduct? Guess you're a bit of a snowflake.

No it's the lack of respect and aggressiveness shown to your colleague that would get you the disciplinary. Not anything else.

Look I work in IT, I am an aggressive person by nature and trust me that some of my non-IT colleagues would try the patience of a Saint but you have to show them respect.

The players are in the game for their own reasons, not because you want them to be there. They are having fun. If you want them to help you then you must show them the respect that you want from them. Or ignore them. Anything else will get you reported, deservedly so.

So if you want to avoid repeated bans avoid the salt. Or avoid chat all together. Remember that they might have chat turned off, it is allowed these days but even if they do, somebody else will be reporting you.

You are responsible for your own bans of you get a three day ban. Just as you are responsible for turning pink if you torpedo a team mate. Nobody else is responsible.

I show them the greatest respect possible, I expect them to have a brain. Can't go much further, and when they disappoint I personally don't feel it is any more toxic to tell them they were not helpful in any way shape or form, compared to the toxic element of them 'having fun' at the expense of others.

Sadly. The kind of people I talk about would be better off having fun in pve where there is no expectations of people partaking in teamwork. The one's who even after being given advice still won't take it, and who continue to repeat actions time and time again, somehow expecting a different result.

Ow yes I know.

But where did I say otherwise? I just sad that I think it's not toxic to tell these people they are being of no help to their team. I can't help it the rules don't comply with it.

Well actually I tend to went salt occasionally and beside sinking karma never had anything else to see as a result so I guess getting a ban aint that easy, might be a cumulative thing though?
