Ranked Sprint Season 7

It's rubbish. I thought I might be progressing a little but these two seasons of Ranked have made me realise how crap I am. I give up.

Got to Rank 1 in 27 battles.

Mostly in the Budy, plus a few in the Aoba. Decided the Budy was better, due to it being better at wiping dd's.

Strangely streaky season. Lost my first battle then won every one till I got to Rank 5. Then lost 5 or 6 in a row. Then won a load in a row to get to Rank 1. With a big thanks to all my team mates that played well.

After having got Rank 1 in my first full sprint, it was pretty easy. 39 battles in and a couple of loosing streaks, but not very challenging. But hey, 10,000 easy coal, just wish there was a bit of steel too, but hey ho.

why doesn't CV players who are hellbent on sabotaging every [edited]battle go and [edited]themselves? what fuckign waste of time

i did it.

At first i only wanted to try out the thing.

But until rank 5 was a breeze (my last post) but then got a bit messed up, MM with only BBs and dds and stff like that, a bunch of defeats.

I only used two ships, both germans.

Nurnberg and Bayern.

I had terrific games with them, some so intense that, often at the end i didn't remember the ships i had sunk. One of them happen today. A guepard, a De Grasse and a PEV. At a certain point in that game i had 700 HP left but i did survived with +- 5000 HP, so pretty busy to notice or remember.

Meta ships for this rank was meh, if you ask me, only served to make the game more boring, the same ships over and over again. One can finish with any ship.

 

7 vs 7 is cool, i like it but that i already knew, the main reason i wanted to try rank sprint is because it's similarities to Halo battles, i miss them, fortunately they are around the corner.

 

Izmail, I'm nervous with that ship, i got a few and citadel a few more, it's a t6 and I'm afraid that will not be my cup of tea i prefer the t5 BB, but i can't do ops with a t5, Bayern to the rescue again.

 

With this  PEV mania in rank sprint i went to try my PEV in Ops, (they say it's good in ops)

yeah, let's  just say Bayern it's the better ship.

 

In the end i had fun, next time I'm in

Finally made it, with T-61 and Shinonome (I'm a bad person) - there have been rather a lot of folk about who even make me look good...!

Being semi-sensible, a lot of the trouble looks to be derived from people struggling to adapt to the smaller team/map format e.g. I've seen a lot of BBs acting as they would in randoms i.e. standing off too much; also, people seem to struggle with how quickly battle is joined on the smaller maps and are still fannying around when they should be ready to fire.

Did rank 1 in 15 battles. Ryujo is very strong vs small teams.

Oh well. Failed! 121 awful, painful battles to reach Rank 3 - which were split into 20 games to rank 5, 10 games trying to get from Rank 3 to 1 (got within one star before the inevitable) and 90 games in the middle which will rank as the most miserable game experience I've ever had.  Took a while to figure the right ship and play style to make any progress (Guepard, aggressive) but you can't predict how other people will play around you even if you get it right (last night's highlight was scoring three kills in 45 seconds and still losing, watching while a Fuso and an Aoba getting dev struck by a red team Nurnberg, which was novel...)

I feel ya m8, had the worst sprint i can remember, i was 1 star away from R1 like 4 times before i finally managed to rank out with aigle...

There was still a fair few good fun games in there: usually through saying "Hang it" to the meta. I think playing a DD without smoke was fun because it meant focusing on flanking and spotting... and it's a very good brawler, so that was enjoyable. But overall... ack.

I hear ya! I simply gave up, never again. Nothing is worth that frustration.

I wasn't able to use any of my tech tree Cruisers because none of them had more than 9-point captains (and not much elite xp to accelerate training) and I kind of regret that because a lot of the maps were cruiser friendly and there was a desperate need to kill red DDs quickly. There are a lot of Premium T6 DDs and BBs that can take a national 19-point captain, not many Premium Cruisers on offer for main national lines that would allow that.

 

Under the circumstances I was using secondary-spec PEF in the cruiser role of cap contesting instead.
