Absolutely agree. It got a bit harder with more and more 380mm  BBs but still my favourite on T6 BBs. Always feels a bit dirty to blap CLs but its so much fun

Of course the CV is the ultimate ship. Especially when the one on the team is afk together with one DD and the premium cruiser....

I have to say there is a lot of AFKs in spring is that usual? I had 2 on my team. 

 

 

Personally I don't believe it's WG fault...more like people getting a free win and getting rank 1 without firing a single shot.

1)  It is not My experience, I think I have had 1 afk all season.

 

2) I am not an expert ( others seem to think I am, but that,s for another thread )  

 

I think its a team game, if some one is not " pulling there weight " I think its not a winning formula, unless there,s some trick I do not know about being AFK. ???

That's because Germany is at the moment having problems with it's internet providers. As far as I can tell it's mostly Telekom, but others are affected as well since most smaller providers actually use the infrastructure of Telekom.de.

If you look closely you might see that most of those AFK are people with German nicknames or are members of German clans. Apparently people try again and again to get into the game, once in a while it works and then it cuts back out in battle.

I reached 5 but what I've seen makes me wonder if I should continue, I may rank out immediately or get stuck cuz the things I'm seeing here make random salads look like palatable and I was on the verge of quitting haha :) But I must confess the extra salt and finger-pointing might be worth it just for the jingles:D

Got to rank 4 easily enough and then it was like I hit a shoal of morons game after game.. Suicide DD's, YOLO CV's and BB's that decide to go 1v1 against DD's and wonder why they die..

 

Look at the screenshots..In this game I get less than 4k damage because the team melts away and I finish top...

PEF is missing punch. All she can do is blap low tier cruisers and support against BBs. Plus she is a decent meat shield.

 

My main criticism is the slow reload and bad AP shells. Both are artificially making her more of a supporter ship which she shouldn’t be. She should be a flanker like Gascogne with sufficient punch to make a flanking move count - which she can’t.

 

I wouldn’t say she is better than Bayern  although BAYERN’s few advantages have been powercreped. The guns are nothing to write home anymore now that we have Mutsu and West Virginia, Warspite still holds the accuracy advantage and the Frenchy and Fuso got the Volume.

 

So all that she’s got left is being the meat shield. I think she is constantly one of last T6s in the Stats, no?

 

EDIT: In essence Bayern packs a bit more punch but is less accurate

PEV, a decent meat shield? No, not even that.

I wanted to double check because I've been away for a few months and I might missed something.

But that affirmation is just some personal liking.

 

I Can use Normandie it's an OKish ship but my top pick will be Bayern if I decide to play BBs, I don't know about stats but, at least, it does what it says in the tin.

the big question is the cv. i will try it today, the majority of good cv players must have ranked out by now or be up there.

let's see.

I took my PEF out last night and was extremely disappointed in the performance... My AP shells did more bouncing than penetrating.

 

My only claim to fame from all the shells fired in the whole game was a double citadel hit to an Aoba...shells fired at BB's did absolutely nothing..

 

Today, I am going to try Bayern at least the reload is 8 seconds faster....

In those games where I had witnessed AFK players all seemed to be of German origin... 

 

But, I noticed too that, in the games I played I had several where it took me longer to get in to the game and my ping was much higher than normal... 36 seconds into game I  think was my longest.

Perhaps it is a wider issue than just the German ISP?

I purposely did not say what ship I ranked out on,

 

because I think ranked and ranked sprint is, "team organisation dependant", and not down so much on what boat you use, so I didn't want people thinking " that boat " is great, and be disappointed when they lose a game with it.

 

There are strong picks and weak picks, at the end of the day, The Player Drives the boat, and to coin an old phase " a bad work man blames his tools "

 

I got very lucky I had some very very good team mates, that knew what they where doing.

 

Ranking out, to me doesn't mean " you are a great player " for me it means " you are a good grinder "
