I've been getting a lot of critical errors while playing of late, not good during ranked and clan battles, event viewer says Event ID 108, but google isn't very clear about the problem. I have run Wargame checker, no obvious problems. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

All I can tell you is that a lot of people seem to currently experience these errors. I don't think you got any problem with drivers or hardware. This likely is an issue within the client and it is there since the latest patch.

Contact support and they should be able to narrow things down for you.

Note that a Event ID 108 is a windows error, most the time it happens when windows tries to access programs or software and is for whatever reason unsuccessful. Whether that is due to a lack of permissions or missing directories. This may not be world of warships itself if there are un-updated, corrupt or missing directories in programs like your GPU drivers, Audio drivers and anything else basically. But as I said earlier, support should have a better idea.

I just had a Critical Error in my game on the Wargaming stream with Conway and Crysantos while i was in a division with them!

First one i had in a long time and happened after the latest patch! I hope it won't happen since it hasn't since then, but some of my friends have experienced them as well!

I am getting critical errors and crashes as soon as I load into my port, never had problems in the past and I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no change.

Same here, I had 2 in 3 days. I also had clanmates that had them. And when you get back in the game, you read things like 'ship afk?' when you are not voluntary. I guess a lot of people will lose compliments this way.

Running the latest drivers and very recent hardware (Als ROG stuff) so it is probably introduced in the last update, they did do some visual stuff upgrade. Maybe 8.8 will fix it.

True, it's either a Windows update or a WOW update, too many people with different hardware have it. I never had it till the last WOW update.

I have been also been experiencing critical errors since latest patch.

Not that often, but I never had such an issue before.

Also, when the critical error pops up, i can't even alt tab. Im stuck with the ingame screen. Can't even tab to the task manager.

Last time I crashed,  I had to restart, and when I got back in the game (was dead ofc) I asked if any other  user was facing it.  Two responded that they have been facing the same issue, after the last patch.

Anyway, last error was yesterday. Right after it,  I checked game integrity and updated the gpu drivers. Haven't managed to play afterwards, but Im not getting my hopes up.

Looks like something's wrong currently with the game.

If your computer is freezing up and forcing you to kill the power and restart then the problem is likely not game related, though that is no guarantee. Follow my instructions below for checking your error logs on windows.

Hello.

I'd just like to get some information of anyone who is experiencing these crashes. If you could answer the simple questions below that would be great. Please do not post confidential information!

  • Operating system and version?
  • Short description of the problem. I.E "Screen freeze, game freeze, game closes suddenly with error message, computer freeze, etc"
  • Do you get a WoWS Crash log on event or not?
  • Have you updated your drivers to the latest stable version? Driver details and version.

Hopefully if we can get some similar cases we can start narrowing down faults. however I must insist that people contact WarGaming support which you can do here! They will have a better idea of how to help you than I!

An event ID108 is likely a directory error. I.E It's when your operating system tries to access data using a specific directory but is unable to. This could be because the directory has moved, been deleted, is corrupt etc.

Assuming you're on windows 10. When the crash happens note the system time, then go to your search bar and type "Event Viewer". Click on "Windows log" and access the system logs. Click on "Level" to sort the seriousness of errors and find warnings or fatal errors that correspond to the error ID you get which happened just before the time stamp of the crash. If you click on the log, you'll find more details which can help narrow down the cause of the crash. Note that this does not provide an accurate solution, it's more of a guideline to what is wrong.

Quoting myself above, if anyone is suffering crashes which are not game related I suggest going through your windows logs. Anyone experiencing issues should already be in contact with support, they will be able to help you better than I.

It is game related.  Too many people are getting this issue, including myself.  I do not power off when it freezes, I Ctl Alt Del and load the task manager and kill WOWS from there, then restart via the game centre and prey that I haven't died in the meantime in battle.

btw so far it only crashes on the EU game engine, not the engine in the NA folder.
