sounds like when you press the buttom to beware planes incoming where there are no cv in the match lol

Maybe a special  colour for the playername in-game- they've got that for pink and orange so it shouldn't be too hard to do.

 

What colour would be suitable for a player who is chat banned?  Maybe a brown colour?

I think the colour thing might work. Would help with the frustration when trying to set up something with a teammate or smth.

As horrifying as the idea clearly is to you. Most people go the whole game without feeling the need to tell anyone else what to do.

Best idea ever, it get's my vote.

Someone recognises me and says 'Hi Shaka', and all I can say is 'Fair winds and following seas' or 'Wilco'. Crazy stupid.

Mhm... I remember a time where community was able to take advice and work as a team. 

 

Chat isn't about 'orders' it's about communication, and yes chat can be harsh because people do not have  to be elequant in battle chat. If you ever player any team sports game ( you know, irl ) you would understand people aren't going to go: Dear sir/madam, there seems to be a Kamikaze R there on that flank on our right, and you're the only cruiser on this flank, could you please stop suiciding into the enemy battleships and perhaps be a bit more useful to the team by taking care of that destroyer? 

 

If someone pings the map and just types in 'DD' do you think: he didn't say please so I'll ignore him?

With the quick commands there is a lot less need to actually use chat, so I guess he has a point though. 

 

Yeah, thinking about it, chat is more about salt then communication, I was just trying to hold on to this idea born from long lost times.

tbf.... wheh you've got Div's going round reporting anyone who doesn't play they way they want them to it's not surprising to be chatbanned once a month just for the satisfaction of telling some window-licking mouth breather to 'do one'.

I could use that button, since my policy to verbally flog leechers hoping that they'll leave the game if they get enough verbal flak leads to a lot of chatban.

 

(Yet the last chatban I got was for being very expletive towards WG about my first experience as a CV with the new AAA mechanic. Frankly, they have quite a sensitive skin compared to how they abuse OUR patience...)
