Damn it, I'm stuck on my (merchant) ship on the Rotterdam anchorage. Would have loved to go. At least I can play WoWS during my anchor watch.

Where are you moored? I'll try to get you a t-shirt.

Strange things, in the quiz, the  correct answer for the question at wich hour the battle in the java sea started does not correspond with the historical data.. they claim 10.43 is the correct answer   see this link.

Exactly!

That question baffled me, using several sources at my disposal. :fish_book:

The only reason I went for 10:43 was that all the other times made even less sense as they were most certainly too late. :fish_panic:

I started wondering if 18:13 was 'Tokyo time' or something..  but that seems to be 1.5 hours later than 'local time' as used in several chronologies so that doesn't match either..:fish_nerv:

Some of the first moves take place around that 10:43, including a message from Helfrich to keep going, but so far, no firm source on why that time would be relevant, and it's so exact..

Half the times in any of the chronologies are guesstimates due to logs being lost and such.

Aniway, I am pleased to say I got all the questions right, except, somehow, my nickname.. but I guess that's impossible to process properly and just required for input. :fish_aqua:

My honour as a historian is safe! :fish_glass:

@WG_Lumberjack @Crysantos I would still like to propose that the question about the start time of the battle not be counted, so more people will be eligible, unless it can be stated with certainty that 10:43 is somehow the correct time.

Maybe there's some new research on this front?

If so, please share this information with us after August 4th!

And looking forward to seeing you there!

That would be amazing! I'm at the Scheveningen outer anchorage at the moment (7km off the Pier van Scheveningen) but with some luck we'll go to Rotterdam this week to re-supply.

If you have never been there you must go.

I sailed from 1974 to 1980  on Hms Dolfijn, on the side of the museum there is a 3 cilinder sub what you can enter.

Enjoy and experice the accomondation that we he had on the sub.

Any idea when we will receive information about the tour?
I can't find the original information any more but entry was closed last Saturday..

Now I don't know if I need to keep checking my e-mail or don't have to bother any more..

Winners have been informed and picked.
We've had around 900 responses and hundreds of players with all correct answers (obviously apart from nickname;)) so we've had to pick by the time (who was the fastest).

Im determined to come to my first WoWs event, but I want to ask a quick question. I fly into Amsterdam early in the morning on the 14th, and I will probably be a couple hours late because of that. What will I miss and can I still join at, say, 12:00? Still, cant wait to go!

It was really nice to hear all the museum staff talk so passionately about the history. Really made the experience a whole lot better.

Curses..

As is unfortunately too common I was a bit late due to problems with the train, so I missed that..

Nevertheless I had a great time, and had the opportunity to talk to both @Crysantos and @WG_Lumberjack as well as a few members of the panel.

Having no actual navy experience myself and having obtained my knowledge almost exclusively through books and such, I certainly got some new tidbits of information from the perspective of actual naval members. :fish_book:

Sergei, if I got that right, was also very nice, I would love to see/hear more of him and his team.

He mentioned a stream in the near future?

The goody bag got me a Prinz Eitel Friedrich too, so that is also pretty cool.

Gratis! :Smile_coin:

Due to circumstances I ended up rushing through the museum a bit, but I did get too see the highlights.

As for the aforementioned question, I for one don't mind the mix up, I always like being right and otherwise I would have been happy having learned something new anyway. :Smile-_tongue:

Sadly I was not lucky in the draw for the tour of the naval base itself, perhaps someone who went on the tour can post about that?

P.S. @WG_Lumberjack I'll reconsider my position on the Friesland. She was already pretty dear to me, but given what your advice on how to play her, maybe I will give her a shot. Need to have a talk with my wallet about that..:Smile_veryhappy:

Good luck with future events!

I only got to introduce myself to @Crysantos  and to the Super test coordinator whose name i forgot because i am horrible with names.

I have also seen the WG head of videos but he was very busy so i did not want to interrupt him in his work.

Crysantos would you please pass my compliments to him and his team about the outstanding quality of the videos he makes especially my favorite Naval Legends.

Thanks to all of you who attended, it was a pleasure to meet so many of you - familiar names and new ones alike! I'm sorry to hear that some of you got stuck in Amsterdam due to the train issues :Smile_sad:

I hope you enjoyed the event and had a nice day in Den Helder! Special thanks to @mitchell600 and the Dutch Navy for being great hosts and hosting an extra special tour for us.

Hope to see you guys again in the future!

I'm very sorry but I was sick as a dog this Saturday - I could barely make it to my kitchen, let alone Den Helder.

@Crysantos Are there any T-shirts left over? Not for me but for Metal here? I was too ill to make it to the event and now I kind of want to fix this somehow. Are they for sale anywhere maybe?

@MadGunna Sorry to hear you were too sick to go but don't worry, I got home recently and was thus able to attend. But now I feel a little bad for being able to go while you were unable to go. Your offer was so kind.

@Crysantos So if there are any goody-bags and/or T-shirts left, please give one to MadGunna. I got one already.
