Just last week i was thinking why we were not represented in the game... since our navy was/is very well known around the world.

I will definately go there, i also missed the "vlootdagen" a few years now, have been only twice since i left the seacadet corps..  this is my chance!

About that t-shirt, on the front there is a random flag with below it 'Friesland'. In case you guys didn't realise it, Friesland is a province in the Netherlands with its own language and its own flag of which the inhabitants are very proud. It would be quite cool if that flag could still be updated to the real flag of Friesland :))

Its the navy flag so its appropriate.

But i am hoping for the Frisian flag in the ship bundle.

 

Also its 99% certain i can attend really looking forward to it.

We were aware of it but we can't unfortunately always add all the flags we want :(

I am so stupid, I was actually quite upset I couldn't find the link to a discussion topic so I made one -> 

 

 

As you can see I'm planning on attending ( it's basically so close I got no excuse not to go... and it's free so Dutch people can not possible ignore it! ). Loran is interested, many of the scrubs are. Maybe there is a big facebook thing were people are already arranging a meetup or something, but for those who don't like gezichtsboek hoop ik dat er een soortgelijk initiatief zou zijn op het forum. 

 

I still remember how Dutchies were represented pretty well in the old days and I would love meeting some of the forumites if they will be attending. Also, I was hoping for the known English speaking community managers to be there so I can scream and yell at them for REEwork, but ahh well I guess having my kids with means I'd have to semi behave

Former sea cadet representing as well. Sadly I can't seem to make my son interested in it at all. I haven't sailed since I left, motorboat's yeah sure but I miss that feeling of being 'one with nature' you get when moving using just what nature is offering you at that moment.

Friesland is a province of the Netherlands and putting a friesian flag on it would be an insult. Ships carry nation flags and not local area flags. There is no way that flag can be put on her.

Piet, I think the Dolfijn class subs (the Tonijn is) is a bit to modern... About dutch ships, there are more choices. Hr.Ms. De Ruyter (pre-WW2), Hr.MS De Zeven Provincien (post WW2), Hr.Ms Sumatra (cruiser comparable with HMS Emerald), the battle cruiser project (wich will be like KMS Scharnhorst, as she had the same gun set up, so tier 7 at most) and not to forget the big fleet of 26 submarines of different types. (Keep in mind, Germany had 31 submarines in 1938).

For the rest of the European fleet, think about the spanish cruisers, swedish cruisers, danish destroyer (HMDS Peder Skram), swedish destroyers.

As submarines get into the game, it might be intersting to put frigates in as well..they are the real sub-hunters. This game will change....

Well, it is not the navy flag, as we don't have such. It is the jack, or 'geus' and is only carried on the front stack when in a foreign harbor or when a foreign ship visits the harbour.

So when a british ship visits Den Helder, this jack is carried. When the dutch warship visits London, it is also carried.
