What ship tree would you love to do all over again?

With the research bureau coming, what ship tree would be your favorite candidate to do all over again?

 

For me, if I decide to do it, it would have to be a tree in which I had the most fun in. Im not a min max grinder. So, top of my head: KM battleships and UK destroyers. I just love the secondaries on the upper tiers, and the lower tier german battleships are actually quite good. The UK destroyers just feel pretty nice overall, i cant remember one uk DD that I didnt like so far up to tier IX.

Well, research bureau aint that bad. I already have two Zao’s, Monties, GK’s, Yamato’s, Hindy’s, Moskva’s, Z52’s, Des Moines and Mino’s.

 

I guess Ill regrind the SN cruiser line, Japanese gunboat line, English cruiser line, English destroyer line and PA DD line. I would like to get the Ohio :)

- USN cruiser line (since I didn't play the T6 Pepsi nor the T7 NO and the Buffalo) - they're all having galaxy event perma camos too 

- Pan Asian DD line (skipped too much on it)

- Japanese cruiser line

- USN BB line

- German DD line

French Battleships, as the premiums are interesting enough so that the Silver ships wouldn't be missed (cough Tier VII *Strasbourg*, WG)

 

I love RN DDs but I would rather have the Commonwealth line, similar but different, rather than regrind the RN ones. 

 

That's it. Overall the Research Bureau idea still sucks.

If I had to at gunpoint, IJN cruiser line I guess. And because it has a special place in my heart the German cruiser line.

German cruisers. The line isn't great, but also not terrible enough that I'd need massive amounts of free exp. And I doubt I'll need them for competitive anytime soon.

I have been playing for 4 years now and got only 4 T10 ships. Regrinding is not on my agenda.

I think it's hard to reach a level of 10. If you're a bit shy, you do not want to play it all over again.

New Ideas

 

- first example -
Hipper Cruiser with 1,000,000 XP on the ship unlocks something.
Maybe a new ship or a new consumable or currency.
The XP must be earned in a nation on several ships.

 

- second example -
5 level Kampange with historical background for min 6 players.
Mixed classes.
Stage mixed.
If you can not get the level you have to play again from the beginning.
In the end there is a heavy fight against one opponent or a lot.
You need different ships to win.

 

- third example -
A world map.
There are oil rigs on the map.
There are also mines and factories on the coasts that you can conquer.
This is playable in an extra mode.
The whole thing goes in the clan with 2vs2 or 4vs4 or 6vs6.
Open classes or level.
The captured factories then make resurces you need to build ports or other buildings.
Consumables or parts of ships or ships can be manufactured in the buildings.

Japanese and British cruisers, I might be prepared to redo the Japanese BBs, although I wouldn't do the German BBs or Japanese torp DDs they are not the fun boats they used to be.

I worked hard on getting my lines up to where they are. I'll not throw all that into the garbage bin repeatedly for a single premium ship.

well, I will regrind nothing I'm still at t8 and way behind schedule, and I'm in no hurry.

First, I'll come back to kuma, furutaka and Omaha, after I get bored from Friant, maybe i'll resume French BBs and US BBs, maybe buy Jean Bart or Georgia.

All in a leisure pace.

I don't have/don't know a single line that I would like to grind again from bottom to top.

If I had to with a gun to my head maybe UK CLs (fun to play), or IJN CAs as I potatoed hard in them back then (my first line) but I will not regrind multiple lines and definitely will not buy doubloons to convert free XP. And since more and more stupid ideas are coming this year I stopped spending on this game.

I think people will be surprised when they hit a wall trying to regrind 'easy' lines they remember. Only those with spare 19 point captain have a chance and if I'm wg I'm forcing them to start all over there too. Just for the giggles or jingles :)

Id rather not for any too be honest. (Havent even reached tier 10, although thats more due to me wanting to actually learn the game rather than fly up the tiers).

You don't need spare 19 pointers, just a lot of elite commander exp.

How much time you're playing? I guess more than a year, and you didn't reach T10 ?

None indeed. I would like to see incentives to actually play fun lower tier ships rather then this forced regrinds down our throat thingy. 

 

Also, fun lower tiers for me starts at tier VII, anything below that is just seal territory

That's an interesting point about the German BB line actually. I played the tier XI and X just recently and enjoyed myself with IFHE lolbuilds, but the Bismark isn't what she used to be mainly due to the shifted tier VIII MM.

I'm not sure what to do. I find the concept stupid and the 'reason' given - play your favorites again - is bull and offending, but it does made me think about what line I enjoyed most and wonder if I would really enjoy playing them all over again. Like LLB points out, fond memories might be crushed because MM and powercreep issues. And there are enough lines with one or two horrible ships in it that makes me want to poke my eyes out enough to never want to reset them again.

 

But it can't hurt to think about possible opportunities for fun since it's coming no matter what. The UK cruisers line is something I had fun in most of the ships too.

 

Are any one of you looking into min maxing the grind? If so what are your plans?
