They could have done what you suggest without the clone, Just a flag against the Ships on the tech tree and a reset on ship XP would have done the trick.

No new currency required, white symbol showing reset, turns yellow on ships reground, job done, T10 still available for clan battles etc.

That way they would even still cash in on the wallet warriors.

I don't have any tier X ship, i just get my first tier V ship a few days ago, and been pause WoWs about 2 years, and now see this crap.....no comment..

I stop playing WoT becose many stupid things, and mount of greed from WG, and now even with this low tier ships how i can be sure to be playing for long time when WG put stuped on stuped on stuped idea again and again and again. WE ARE NOT SHEEPS!!!!

I play many other games, and never will spent all time on only one game, NEVER, especialy when company show so much greed, i just don't care for them if they not care for me (us) like player/s.

I don't have problem to quit game, no matter how far i get.

Been thinking that WoWs is better than WoT, but.....seems i'm been wrong.....so sad...

Naive? I played WG games since 2011. I know WeeGee moneygrab when I see one. But there are people with loads of freeXP that can get RB rewards for free. Hence my comment...

Wouldnt be quite so bad if you could exchange research points for coal or steel at whatever ratio WG decide. As it stands now I've reset two lines for 40k research points and will have to do it twice more to get any ship- no thanks WG, I've had enough,  you just lost what little trust I had left in you.

Well, very nice. Very good idea. I'll let some other people do that, though, I am not done with grinding and I really, really don't want to reset my progress. Happy with my collection as it stands.

Fabulous idea though. I'm sure someone, somewhere, maybe those Unicum players who get unbelievably accurate shots every game using ships I get scattershot with will enjoy that.

I'll wait till the ship gets released for money, or released for a currency equivalent. Like the Kutuzov or Belfast or Missouri or Nikolai, "it won't be sold again, grab it now. It will be available in loot boxes..."
I mean, this is a business. I get that. You can't trust WG to do what it tells us it will do, since it has always breached its word. I get that too.

Therefore, I can wait. I won't get that cool ship now. I'm willing to bet I'll get it for less money than I'd spend wasting my time grinding. Time, after all, is money, and based on the time a non-unicum player needs to grind enough points to get the ship, I very likely could work as a sales clerk at McDonalds (or some other low-pay job) to buy MANY more gold ships, including ones available through, say, "missions for steel", or "early access to French DDs"'. Not that WG ever did something like that, oh no.

I do wonder though. This is a game played by a non negligible amount of players who, like CCP's players (someone referenced EVE earlier in the thread), enjoy stats and calculations, and very possibly have their own Excel sheets about games they play. How likely is it that once the players with enough Free XP to waste and the Super Unicums and Youtubers with astonishing aim and luck are done, there will still be lots of players to reset and grind again?

If you WG, want people to play lower tiers then make events available for lower tiers.  It's no secret that almost 99.99% of players will use free xp or real money to reset the lines just to get the new ships....

I have 3 Tier X all with massive XP on them BUT I can not reset their line to restart as I am 2 lines of Tier X short of being eligible to do it.

 

NOT that I would want to really... BUT still the option to do it would be nice.

If you don't collect ships. dont reserch your ships  The ships you can earn is not worth the effort nor the xp and credits that you have to pay for them. you cant even assign the skipper you had when resurched without paying 500 doublons.

The skipper that comes with Ohio and colbert have 3 skills and no speciel talents. The reserch bureau is just a way from wow to take your money

Ok so season 2 is meant to have started today, in game shows "next multiplier of victory bonus's will be in 3 months". So where is the 10k rp for just having access to the bureau this season ?

Edit - There was lots of discussions about getting Colbert in 2 seasons just by doing 1 line per season.
