What does it mean, how can you move forward without researching any ships?

Does it mean, those ships where we used free XP and skipped to the next one without buying it? Do we need to buy all the ships in the tech tree line or is it ok if we used free XP to research it?

eg. I skipped Kitakaze by using free XP and bought Harugumo. Do I have to buy Kitakaze before I reset? @MrConway

Nope, you don't need to buy any of those ships to perform reset. So just those ships of this branch that you currently have in your port will be sold. It is quite a standard, that if you research another ship, you sell the previous one, because you won't play with that ship any more and you need credits now to obtain higher tier ship.

Před 23 minutami PiXiE93 řekl/a:

I actually heard that somewhere on reditt, there has been talk about them, that they could be implemented in game, so yeah....

Stay frosty for them.!

Regarding ships as a reward for Research points, for now it is just Colbert and it was announced, that next one will be Ohio.

Another possible addition haven't been announced yet. Also submarines were just announced, that it is WIP, right now in status before initial testing, so there is no date for its release, yet. So maybe, maybe not...

I ask again, what happens to your progress on earning a legendary upgrade if you reset your tier 10? Is progress lost? Or can you pick up where you left it when you re-purchase that tier 10?

This mission and its progress will stay there and won't be reset. So as you mentioned, after re-purchase that tier 10 you can continue filling tasks in that particular mission for legendary module :cap_like:

Can I keep resetting the same branch one after another and get the 2x rewards on the new season.

eg. I reset Harugumo tech tree on season 1 and get 2x reward, and on season 2 can I again reset Harugumo tech tree again and still get 2x reward or do I need to reset some new line other than Harugumo.

i have 2 Tier 10s purchased and played with

Ok so lets say i reset a branch i finally grinded through after months of playing, and then i think "research points look nice", reset the branch, play some rounds and think "omg its not worth it, bad idea". But there you go, all your [edited]hundreds of gameplay hours are gone forever. I couldnt think of a more terrible feature to "motivate" players to play low-tier. Jesus christ, a am so disappointed, but hey, submarines are probably gonna make up for it, lul

+1 - making low tier ship events that give any or high tier resources, flags, consumables, etc. - is the way to make it.

At first I've thought you will be able to buy a reset that gives you all your experience as FreeXP, but LOL - I ain't touching this.

@YabbaCoe

Yes, that's what they said. You don’t have to purchase them or play, just to be researched.

Some players just grind through to get to tier X, not keeping any previous ship, while some keep all ships, and play and enjoy them from time to time. Those players are the ship collectors, and do give Wargaming a lot of money for port slots. The ship collectors are punished hard, being forced to "sell" the ships, while those only caring for the high tier ships are not affected. Nice one Wargaming.

PS. I will never reset. Not to grind, not to free XP. If it had been done in another way it could have been ok. I would enjoyed revisiting the ships, and grind xp for a mission. But to lose all my ships in a tech line, that's no, no.

Cancel the research bureau and introduce a system like WoWp had with their plane anniversaries. I loved those, but Wg decided to take dump 2.0 on us and cancel it. Bring anniversary back! do them for tanks, ships and planes.

PS: your current gameplay/monetisation logic of "frustrated players spend money to skip grind" is beyond self-destructive. don't destroy your accidentally good games with your creative deficiencies.

Two of my clan members had lines they don't play anymore and decided to reset them just to see what this crap was about.

I explained it to them but they did it anyway.

They have both now abandoned the lines they reset and will not regrind them, the verdict was to much effort for not enough gain.

People don't seem to realise that the XP from ships that goes back only goes back to the lowest ship in the line, so once you have used that for the next all that XP is lost as it is stuck on the lowest.

This was designed to burn resources from the top players that have credits and Free XP coming out of their ears, for these people it is no problem, proof of that is there are already some Colbert's in game today.

Just another advantage to the top end to make life even more difficult for average or lower level players.

Everyone (Almost, idiots are everywhere) is telling WG this is a naff idea.

I have already suggested this before VETERENS LEAGUE (Game Mode, same as random but with limited access)

Access to league is earned on completion of first line completed on regrind.

A tech line can only be used in this league if it has been reground.

Start the regrind at T5 (as some mentioned it won't affect the new players)

Effects of the current system

Players with millions in Free XP and credits won't play the lower tier as they can skip them so the play lower tiers is proven to be BS. (these players now have an advantage they don't need in the first place)

Players that don't have the resources won't bother, so they won't replay lower tiers.

For the few average players that do reset, half way through the WILL FONDLY remember that the line was a pig to grind in the first place and ask themselves WHY did I do that.

New players will get blasted at every turn by experienced players and think the game is to hard, and go play something easier like my little pony.

Instead

Fix the broken MM +1 OR -1 (Not both, then now two tier gaps can exist), Balance radar ships across teams if team A has 3 then team B has 3, not this team A has 3 and Team B has none.

Revise your ship balancing system, you are using WR% ffs, probably the most unreliable statistic in the game, it is team based (and we know how that works), there are just to many variables in the team mix, ship mix and player level mix to be reliable.

Introduce Scenarios (PVE), Missions, Campaigns or even game modes that are aimed at Tiers 4 to 7

Introduce Training PVE as I suggested in suggestions before, these cover all the basic skills and ensure players understand how the game works, it will improve the overall stand of players. Tier access can be gated on completion of PVE Training.

Introduce gating on the purchase of premiums as suggested before, for example to buy a T7 premium Cruiser you must have ground up to T6 on a cruiser line, (always 1 Tier down until T8 when all are unlocked).

This has to be class dependant to stop someone who has only ever played BB buying or using Free XP to get High tier ships in a class they have no experience in.

WG: Start listening or your game is heading the same way as a noob in a tier 10 match.

Well we all know where do we stand on this.

We all know taking from us our hardly grind ship is a bad design because I will not be able to play my High Tier ships during regrind.

We all have concepts about how this could have been done better.

We know well who are those who will "regrind" the lines:  A. People who can afford to pour more MONEY in this game and PAY the regrind.

                                                                                                      B. Mentally ill people who have a lot of FREE time and no LIFE

So After all money talks. I left World of Tanks years ago. I see World of Warships is taking the same path.

If you WG dont want me to play the game I want... then it means you dont need my money.

From a marketing point of view, it is wise to listen to your potential customers.

Otherwise you will not meet the goals and the Whole new idea will turn into a disaster, including people already not happy, leaving the game.

They care only for $$$$$

and again! Wg set a line of ships to research!!

Why??

The only answer of this is again:

"WG gives only the players that have all ships more ships! And the other players look into a hole of nothing!"

This whole thing could had be done much better. Do you want to grind? Ok :

1. Pick a line you want to grind.

2. Clone the line and use the second one to grind it. Same ships... maybe black ones like the Black Tirpitz or any other camo pattern.

This way you dont TAKE the ships from the skill tree from the players.

3. Do you want to make the grinding more motivating? Maybe from T6-T10 add as reward 500 Steel/Tier too not only Research Points.

WG still could get their $$$ because this way the ones who want to "grind" the line with $$$ could still do it.

Many good suggestions, many good alternatives proposed, many-many different BUT interesting paths this could have been implemented that would ameliorate the problems detected.

What happens??

WG thinks that it addresses a bunch of 15yo with dads that have a big, fat wallet...........with a lot, easy to misplace credit cards........

Sorry to dissapoint you WG but the VAST MAJORITY of your players are in their late 20s, 30s and 40s.....in know people in their 50s and 60s too...

Lets see how many will be convinced by your arguments so as to regrind......

I stopped playing WoT because retarded wg choices. Then I found Wows and thought '' ey this actually looks like a game where developers don't think that their player base is retarded''. Based on the last 12 months I can say I was wrong.
