Regardless of what the article says your team will still scream at you to "do your job" (rush/contest caps) not fire at dd's from outside them. They will also call you useless like the Russian dd line that has the same playstyle. 

So if they turn out to be weaker than almost every dd line, the achieving victory part will be quite...unfun.

The problem is not the ships themselves the problem is that those ships still classify as "classical" DD's (which they clearly aren't) as far as matchmaking is concerned. And as with the Russian DD line and the infamous Khaba people (me included) will always be sceptical when you get those in your team while the enemy team has a "real" DD.

I had a game in the Mogador. Was down to 500 HP but we were winning. This guy in a BB wants me to go hunt a 2/3 HP Yugumo. I said no bc the Yugumo has better detectrange with like 1.5 km and can kill me in one shot. Was called bad things and reported.

The BB-guy didn't know anything about the Mogador more than "It's a DD" so he got pissed off when I didn't do "DD-stuff". The lack of knowledge within the playerbase will make them very hard to play.

Calling this kind of thing a "review" yet again fits in seamlessly with WG's extensive history of unfortunate translations.

 

You can't review your own ships. That's not how any of this works. Reviewing one's own products is inherently biased. Call it 'presentation' or something. Words matter.

Yeah. We have a playerbase that keeps spamming "set a smokescreen" to me when I play French DDs.

I usually reply: Who?

They answer: Me

And I then tell them that everyone knows the French DDs doesn't have smoke.

And they go silent......until next battle.

I played the Tier 5 and 6 of the french DD's and I don't really think it is good for the game overall to have these kinds of ships. imho WG is killing their own game with this. I guess we will have U-boots next ?!?

DDs without smoke are useless. Adding better guns and some speed cannot compensate the lack of smoke. You have cruisers at the same tier with better guns, torps and smoke...

 

Not bashing, just giving my impressions as I'm not planning to play in those at all.

French Destroyers ......waste of money and time. They play bad, have no smoke gets killed easy....I wish I would have read all that before...but now they have my $

Your problem if you don't read the announcements. Noone to blame but yourself.

My short review. These destroyers are useless compared to the other destroyers.
No smoke, bad AA and therefore slightly better guns. You have zero advantage. Ok, they are faster. Good cruiserpilots realise it quickly and kill you very fast. If I drive a cruiser I am allways happy to see a frensh dd. Peace of cake to kill them.
In my opinon it is a waste of time to play french destroyers.
