  2. 2. Would having the same offers as the Steam-users (-75% on selected packages, known upfront, doubloon compensation, no daily changing offer) made you buy (more) during these sales?

  3. 3. How did the "mystery container"-bundles, where you bought a guaranteed ship + 2 SC's that dropped a random ship from the pile shape your thought on the offer?

    • It was mainly a deterrent.

    • It was mainly a incentive.

Inspired by this Reddit-thread, I was wondering if you found anything that tickled your fancy during these discounts & bundles? I've also made a poll, because I love statistics.

Bugger, I forgot the question about the "techtree discounts". Ah well, not that important.

I gotmaself Mutsu because it was fun and low enough a price.

But I'd never give that ammount of money for random premiums that can be nice or bad af, rng based.

Nothing.

Considered picking up the Mutsu, but... eh, I don't play my existing T5-6 premium BBs that much anyway.

Probably would have picked up T-61 if it hadn't been bundled with containers.

I would have bought Scharn for my alt, but not worth it with the bundle...

My mate bought the Hood for 50% of it's price. He's satisfied.

I was waiting for Wichita to be on -30% price. It's not amazing ship but in such price like a T7 cruiser - yeah why not. Unfortunately it was with a bundle with 2 SC. And I have all other T8 ships. Maybe next time or in santa crate.

Other games during the Steam sale~

I wanted to get like 4 or 5 ships for myself and some gifts for a friend but they were all behind the gambling packs or didn't show up at all.

And yes those packs where a huge deterrent for me. I dont mind throwing money around but only at things I actually want.

Forcing me to gamble while having no chance to avoid stuff I dislike or dont need like CV's or clones of ships I already own is a even bigger nono than your bs boxes.

But hey seems like this game is earning well enough that they dont need to trick people into spending some money with a proper sale.

Haven't bought a single ship on the summer scams.

My last premium was Enterprise a few months ago, and only because it was with the 30% discount AND because I got from very reliable sources it's broken AF. Last premium before that was before summer 2018, mostly out of protest of where they are pushing the game to.

Last premium time I bought was around last october, and only for a month or two.

My bank account would like to express its gratitude to WG.

Il y a 1 heure, Allied_Winter a dit :

Since the sale was not a sale as I expected it to be: Bought tickets for Sabaton concert.

Already reserved.

And I am weak, I buy the Gascogne (Better than Roma). But never buying the lootbox (it's a trap).

I bought the  Arizona container bundle, got Aigle and Gallant. Not unhappy but probably wouldn’t buy another bundle, much prefer buying individual ships at discount.

Last summer I bought 5 ships, Hood, Scharnhorst, Warspite, Prinz Eugen, Atlanta, this year didn’t like the bundle offers, weren’t enough interesting ships, spent a lot less money.

I was put off by the random ship containers, pity too as if the Vanguard had just been a straight 50% off then WG would have my money already

The ships I wanted were not on sale, and at the moment I am too poor to fork over 70 € for the dubious benefit of receiving 2 other ships I probably don't even care about.

In the end, that "discount" could be worse for me than buying the one ship I want for the regular price, and I am not willing to take that risk.

It's like those "buy a car and receive a free lawnmower" type of deals. I don't care about that stupid lawnmower, just reduce the price of the damn car!

The only ship I ever got from a random crate was the Huange, which didn't give me much confidence either. You know, waiting 2 years and then receiving one of the arguably worst ships in the game. Yay for random loot crates!

WG tried to pressure us into buying stuff we don't really want, by making those time limited deals and playing with our fear of missing out, but I think it backfired.

Would it be too hard to just say: "30 % off all premiums in the month of July", and let us decide what to spend our cash on? It's not like these ships have a limited stock or something - they are just flags in a database.

A really strange decision by Wargaming IMHO.

And actually really unfriendly to their customers, when you think about it. They didn't try to give us what we want as affordable as possible, while still making some good earnings, but they wanted to maximize their profits first and foremost, with the wishes of their customers coming a distant second.

It could have been win/win for us and for them (you know, like honest good deals usually are), but now it's just a missed opportunity.

So thank you, I guess.

Bought nothing. Don't regret it.

If we would have had deals like ones from steam, I would have spend quite a few bucks.

Have already most of the ships., but would have bought a bundle with full dubloon compensation. And something like a steam-bundle anyway.

  1. I didn't buy anything but because I already have all good offers like Nuevo, Sims or Perth, off those I wanted only one came but in bundle so that was clear no.
  2. I don't know. Depending on offered ships. Out of all ships on Steam sale I would buy only one. If they offered mostly BBs or CVs I doubt I would still buy any even with 75% discount.
  3. I think that bundles with RNG boxes is a bad idea. I would never spend so much money if I don't now what I'm buying. Also considering that I don't play CVs, chance to get one is totally unacceptable by me as I would never buy premium CV.
  4. There are some ships I want, will I know upfront when they will be sold and when or find out on the sale day would not stimulate me to buy "any" ship on summer sale. If ship I want is not on summer sale then I wouldn't buy some other ship just because it is on sale. So knowing what ship will be sold upfront or learning that on day by day basis would not determine will I buy ship or not.
  5. Sure. Free doubloons are always welcome
  6. No

Nothing could spark my interest but I already own most ships I like. And it's not that I don't want to spend money on this game, but not this way. The horrible event and abysmal grind wall they put up this year also played a part in my decision. I kinda don't like what they have been doing in their game as of 0.8.0. Too bad WG, you lost out on good money this summer.

Last summer i spent like 70 euro on ships. Scharny, Atlanta, and something else i dont remember. Now i only bought the Octo Rev, since i dont had a russian premium BB, and coal is too valuable for me to throw out 50k. I dont like the way WG handled this sale, i would have bought the Boise for Ops / US CL trainer, but she came as a bundle, so no.

And another cause is, there was another Summer Sale right before the WG one, where is spent most of my ship money :)
