French DD event advanced calculus.

Maybe is just me but after reading all the explanations on how this will work I was left like:

Simple events. Bring them back. Stop playing those damned mindgames.

Getting ever more complex. Letting the player jump through loop after loop and over a few additional hurdles does not make an event more interesting. It just makes them confusing. As evidenced by the opening post.

Remember the KISS principle.

I never even bother reading the news anymore because you need to be a astro physicist to understand. I usually wait for a better explanation from a CC video.

I know, I have played before the Brit DDs without any worries, but it was a bit easier to do an understand.

Erm, it's basically the same as with the British DDs. T5-9 are "early release" that you can earn through the event, the rest are released later.

It does for "Early access" and was the same with RN-DD, RU-BB etc - you have T5-T8 with missions (if you are lucky) and rest will follow later. Only addition now is the T9 which some people can get.

From all the early release versions WG used i prefer the simplicity of the way WG released UK battleships. While it had rather low rewards (stock tier 3, 4 and 5 and port places) there were no loops, rather easy steps to accomplish and above all no crates and money or doublouns required.

I did let MrsFingers read the event announcement from "that silly boat game". She didn't understand a thing of it, despite really trying... She's a PhD in neurobiology, she is used to work with complex algorithms and difficult data.

Sorry, I can't remember the specifics of the British event.

I understand you can have earlier releases, no problem, is just from that picture it seems you move from left to right and progress from 0.8.7 to 0.8.6 and then from 0.8.6 to 0.8.8...

I mean I am sure there was a better way to show the progress, or am I wrong?

I have no idea at all about this but I hope the DD's are better than the Le Terrible, which I have just watched Flamu describe as pretty sheet, do the french DD's have heal or smoke?

Uk BB were pre-released after a 3 week event were you had to accomplish a minor task each week. So in those 3 weeks you succeeded in either finishing that task from0-3 times. If you finish one you got the tier 3, if 2 the tier 3 and 4. If you completed all 3 you got all 3 BB’s.

 

Regarding progress of the French DD: normaly you unlock dd’s while you play and from tier 2 towards tier 10.  But now French DD’s between tier V and IX can be gained by opening crates only. No research just random drops. The tier II, III and IV will be released one path later when you can research the line regulary starting at tier II onwards to tier 9. Wait no tier 10? Correct, that one comes one patch after.Why? Dont know, WG reasons.

What I seem to have missed completely is the Bayard (think thats its name?) apparenty you can get a mission for it but where from exactly? Premium event crates? Normal event crates? After event crates? Token bundles?

Shouldn't be necessary. Imagine someone new to the game.

I already did that - 1035 tokens. 

 

But around Christmas we had someone who made a tool that was looking in your public profile and estimated how much you will get if you kept all your ships.

Not interested in convoluted mechanics. 

I'm just going to keep playing the way I do with total disregard to the event.

Thanks for that. The Mogador part gets complicated, really. I mean, I understood because that guy explained it but does it have to be like that? What's the idea behind this?
