Something to spend Gold/silver/XP on

How about this?

@MrConway and all of you - here's an idea.

 

We all know about the fiasco with the naval Training Center, but this is not about that. But it is, a bit.

We also know about the CV-balance problem, well thi is not about that. But it is, a bit.

 

The main thing is, we have players that are sitting on zillions of XP and/or FXP and everything.

WG has been lookig for a way to give them something to 'research' again, and it should be worthwhile, too.

Now here's an idea. 

 

Since they are changing CVs anyway for balance, and messing with AA, how about this:

  • Nobody likes the current "sectors" anyway, so how about changing them?
  • Make them have a PATTERN, so the AA on a ship would concentrate on the middle/left/right.
  • The attack flight would be bigger, but NO REPLACEMENT.
  • This would leave a HOLE in the attack where the ship might escape. 
  • PATTERNS could be available as a GRIND or FXP or COAL or WHATEVER.

 

You can then switch same as you can now switch sector, and grind/buy patterns in-game. 

But... it would only work if WG decides to change the current 'spare planes' (which ghet dumped anyway).

The surface ships can then decide if they want to 'create a gap' in the middle of the squadron, or shoot one of the sides.

Obviously they will react accordingly... taking the gap in the middle, or braking/accelerating if they shoot one of the sides.

There is a ship that would be a perfect candidate for a massive sink, used to be in the game driving both teams to tears. 

For a price of 5.000.000FXP + 500.000.000 silver.

It isn't a fiasco. They announced their initial idea. It backfired. They accepted the backlash and changed it as requested. I call that a great moment.

It already has, and AA is in the recent patch focussed on the first plane instead of the group in general.

They already addressed this at the release. No replacements is crippling for a CV. A "clipped" CV is a useless ship in the match. This was one of the biggest frustrations before the rework of both the CV player and the rest of the team.

There is, it's the moment the planes need to turn around and attack you again. If you happen to get attacked, wave after wave , it only means your position is out of place, a team should stick together creating strong AA bubbles, because with every ship added the AA bubble gets a additional defense bonus in efficiency.

The players that have excessive amount of those resources are:

A. Whales (who have plenty of economic flags and camps + good premiums) 

B. People with no life or people who's life is ships. 

C. Combination of A and B

 

There are plenty of stuff to use free xp. Skipping tech trees, freemium ships, commander training. 

 

The NTC is attempt to bring players to:

- spent resource

- play lower tiers with regular ships (not seal clubbing with Kamikaze, Belfast etc.) 

- grind tech trees that they consider useless 

 

Example: If WeeGee say regrind USN DDs but you are a BBaby without a single DD in port. 

 

P. S. Unless you are not 15+k randoms/ranked/clan battles or 8-10k butt all played with economic bonuses I do not see how you can accumulate excessive amounts of anything.  

 

I, as a perfect example of average potato, have like 12-13k battles including ranked and clan battles. I use premium time for last 2 years and economic bonuses here or there. I have every free xp ship, 2 skipped tier 10s and just one million free xp in port. Unfortunately, I have like 5 unlocked t10s which I need to buy but have no credits for them because I keep all ships above tier 5.

 

So don't tell me , the majority is sitting on zillions of resources and having every damn ship as this is just less than 2%.

You realize that such an idea would throw away every little bit of balance which still remains at this time with CV and AA? This is just impossible to implement. 

And the idea to have a way to be invulnerable, even if it requires skill, is so frustrating for the opponent that WG would not even consider this 1 second.

That's... a crap idea.
