Turd risk is moderate with only the Ashitaka.

To be fair, Ashitaka did get buffed not that long ago, making her somewhat less awful! Mine pretty much only gets used for the Narai Op though - with the optional Kobayashi cammo, the silver rewards can be absurdly good...

@totolescargo

I see you`re playing mostly FR cruisers, and BB`s, up to tier 8 so far.
My best guess is that you realise how hard it might be for cruisers in mid tiers (5-7), so i`d like to suggest 2 possible ship suggestions:

Scharnhorst

This is arguably one of the best ships on T7. It takes the best parts of both battleships, and cruisers and fuses them into one - i honestly belive that it`s popularity might have contributed to the emergence of many recent premiums commonly considered as "battlecruisers".

Scharnhorst is really fast for a battleship, handles like an overweight cruiser (but not like a battleship), and while its guns are smaller than what you`d have found on a typical T7 BB, they`re still enough to make cruisers really really sad. It also gets torpedoes, which allow you to disrespect enemy battleships like a boss.

Last but not least, as a battleship Scharnhorst also gets a lot of armor, in fact its armor scheme is vastly superior to most techtree battleships, which is a staple of german battleships in general.

So yeah, if you want a slow-ish cruiser (or a really fast battleship) that can shamelessly sail up to an enemy battleships, and blap them with torpedoes while still having enough battleship AP to make enemy cruisers cry, then this is a ship for you.

Duca delgi Abruzzi

I don`t own this ship myself, however i do have it`s little sister, the Duca d`Aosta which plays essentially the same with worse armor and less guns.

To start off i have to say that it`s not that useful for captain training as other premiums, because it`s only useful for those 4 italian ships currently in game.

As far as i can tell Duca is meant for the long-range HE spam kind of playstyle - pretty much the same as with FR cruisers. Both Ducas are equipped with long (12km) range torpedoes, and get some exceptionally good shell velocity which make a long range spam easy. You should however notice that it`s only a 152mm caliber HE spam, which becomes ineffective when uptiered unless you slot IFHE.

I realise, you specified T5 to T7, However T9 gives you options and if you put a commander on a T5 to T7 French BB, you can put Him / Hep ( Commander ) on JB for free and train.

JB will also give you a good insight on playing higher tiers.

Good Luck

No. Just no.

OP has less than 300 battles so it's way too early for him to consistently get into high-tier MM.

Although the standard of play is pretty abysmal on any tier most ppl at T8-10 are at least vaguely familiar with the meta, ships and their capabilities, which would make it very rough for him.

Stick to the low to mid tiers until you feel rdy to advance and you'll do just fine and have more fun as well. :)

I've about 1000 battles under my belt and am only now just starting to improve my game play, so buy premiums with caution. Make sure you play the standard ships up to the tier you want the premium at ideally. I bought the Scharnhorst and it took me quite some practice to go from Video 1 to Video's 2 and 3 . I had to learn the hard way how to play the ship and learn map awareness. When I could push into a cap and when to see it was time to fall back. From what the OP says, i'd agree, one of the German battle cruisers, probably the Scharnhorst, would be a good choice. The "beginners" video I did was referring to me as a beginner. I hope by watching these you can see how a noob player (me!) plays these ships and improves over time. My win rate in the ship was as low as 10% at one point. This has since recovered to around 32%. Its an immensely fun ship though, and if you were to buy, this is the one i'd recommend.

Love both the Scharnhorst and Gneissenau, they were my all time favorite ships.
