Crashing after last update.

Hi all.

My game keeps crashing after the last update. Very randomly and VERY frequent, like 5 times per hour.

Anyone else have the same problem and know how to fix it?
I'm playing through steam if that helps.
It just freezes on me, i have to go to task manager to end the task.

Really annoying and unplayable.

I already uninstalled the game and reinstalled. To no avail.

Had same problem here at times. Updated graphics drivers & it's been ok since.

Had it once too. Have seen it couple of times for others happening aswell...

For me it happened, when a Richelieu started to honk next to me and it crashed

Happened to 3 of us in scenario - 2 in the same game...

Yea well i'm at a loss here.

It crashes very frequent. As in 10 times per hour. Very annoying and unplayable.

All my drivers are updated. It has been happening since update 0.8.5 and it's also the only game that crashes on me.

It's not really a crash, more of a freeze. However i have to end the task through task manager. Sometimes i have to reset my whole computer.

Every now and then it actually crashes. It gives me this message when i check crash reports.

Do you have the WG game centre when you play this game through Steam? If you do, use the "check and repair" under game settings on the game centre. If this does not work a re install as @illy said will see you right.

Hmm, I have not had so much crashing BUT I have suddenly begun to suffer from constant, horrific lag during games. Had to stop playing yesterday because of this. Perhaps the right time to start checking drivers and re-install if all else fails then?

No i don't. Steam just launches the game instantly without any seperate launchers in between.

 

I managed to kinda figure out what causes it. Some sounds will make the game crash. Sometimes when a flag gets capped and you hear the cap sound I freeze, also pressing certain buttons in the port freezes me aswell ( clicking exterior or adding flags for example ).

 

I removed the Ultra sound mod and it made things slightly better but I still get freezes. (5 per hour instead of 10).

 

Support told me to update drivers etc etc however i have done all of that already. Don't know what to do else tbh.

 

I also reinstalled the game twice.

OK mate sounds like you have some curupted files since patch or re instalation tbh and if you have updated all drivers( Inc sound if using separate sound card) wich you  have then I would suggest the following

: Un install from steam and download game strait from wg. This will give you the wg game centre where you can in future check and repair any corupt files wich you currently do not have the option of. This may also provide a more stable install. I'm not saying it's steams fault but by using a 3rd party you increase your chances of missing files if there is an issue with the 3rd party network. Install the normal client rather than the HD one as well as standard sound rather than ultra...you can always upgrade later if you find that this has worked for you.

Thank you for thinking with me and sorry for my late reply.

 

I installed the WG version aswell and unfortunately it's still crashing for me. However not as frequent as before.

 

So i have the same problem on both clients which is really weird.

 

With reinstalling i've also gotten a new problem to add to it which makes the game experience even worse.

 

All of the ingame sounds apart from music are now muffled, as in if i'm underwater. The overall volume is also 10 times lower as before.

 

I have now tried literally everything i can on my end which makes me think that this update doesn't work that well for me for some reason.

 

Probably the only thing i can do is wait for the next update.
