[WITCH] natswright Players 139 posts 5,717 battles Report post #26 Posted July 10, 2019 Quick update guys, i've not yet read that last posts, some very detailed ones, thankyou! However a few kindly "vereran" players took me under their wing last night and we worked on positioning and strategy. Now my damage output wasnt great, as I was focusing on the strategy, such as recognising a flanking action, informing the team of the problem, calling support and then delaying the flank, weather in a DD with torp area denial, or a BB kyting away while laying down supressing fire. You know what, 10 wins on the trot! 10!!! So, i'll be working on map awareness and not focusing as much on damage output. For instance, one game in my Sinop, i killed 4 enemy ships, 3 were DD's and my damage output was not very high, but I pushed into s cap, with support, taking out key targets.

Got another 10 wins for only 2 defeats! Here is the video of my Scharnhorst game, where I score 140k in a very tactical game. https://youtu.be/LkYIgZvPj9E ... I came top and our team won! This, I believe, is your problem. In most cases premium ships are no more "OP" than an ordinary tech tree ship and in some cases (Leander for example) is better than it's premium counterpart (the Perth). Working through a tech tree properly helps you to grow accustomed to how a line of ships play, as the playstyle will only change slightly during your progression to tier 10. You won't be able to build up the required skills if you just buy a premium or free exp your way to T10! For example, you have played 9 battles in the Kongo yet only have an average damage of 8,900 (ouch!) yet I see no battles in the preceding ships - you have to take the time to play the preceding ships in order to achieve the right skill level to play the next boat properly! In short, you (I hate to be harsh here) are probably the the reason your winrate is down. What I advise you do is go back to the basics, play your lower tier ships a bit more (maybe not the Svietlana as you seem to love that!) and get their playstyle worked out, find their strengths and weaknesses before you move on. Like, I look at your Scharnhorst stats (15% W/R from 20 battles with an average damage of 38,000) and my point is proven as I cannot see any other games that you've played in KN battleships. You NEED this experience in these ships! At lower tiers (T7 and down) you can get to the point (in terms of skill and experience) where you can carry your team regardless of how bad they are. ok, Mr. Rank 10 whiner.... this is what you do best. Spend hours sniffing on peoples profiles. Then you wander why many of us prefer to hide it from people like you. Is the game not interesting enough that you spend hours snooping thru profiles???

Did you even bother fully reading though the post you quoted ? He looked at the stats to get an idea of what OPs problem could be and cited them to illustrate what he (and others) considered to be the problem. If you don't want to be judged on your game play alone (cuz that's what the stats summarize) that's your decision. I'd be more sympathetic to your point if it had been in any way malicious, but it doesn't seem to me that anyone here but you is bothered by this. In the end it's just a game, why even get defensive when you're not that good at it yet ? Everyone started somewhere.

You appear to be triggered by perceived 'stats shaming' by using an achieved level in Ranked battles as a pejorative against a person. Also known as STATS SHAMING. Hypocrite. [INTRO] Hanse77SWE [INTRO] Players 1,518 posts 28,855 battles Report post #31 Posted July 29, 2019 WoWs is a very complex game and there's no way in hell that we can tell you in this forum how you should play to "git gud". What works for me might not work for you. When I was about two years into the game I took a look at my stats and said to myself: "I have no idea if this is good or bad." So I started to look at stat-sites and leaderboards to get a feeling. Turned out that I was above average but I still managed to pick it up another notch or two. (Pic of my WR-curve.) When I hit T9 I hit a wall. I sucked! What I did was I stopped everything at T8 and played what I had in port for about six months. When I had all the T9s unlocked and when I felt the time was right I bought the Iowa and had some great games. Not only good stat-wise but it felt good too. Take the time you need. Rome wasn't built in a day and change doesn't come easy. And try to change, not do the same thing over and over again. Yes, that's the definition of practice as well but if you are doing "wrong" you will learn the wrong thing. The "What-if-I-do-this?"-way can teach you alot. Try different things and see what works for you. My advice to "newish" players it to play everything. Play all the T1s, then all the T2s and so on. You will learn the controls, you will learn the maps you will learn the ships, you will learn alot! It looks like you're on the right path but don't get too cocky and allways stay self aware. EDIT: Here's my stats if you want to take a look. https://wows-numbers.com/player/528622489,Hanse77SWE/?

Sometimes harsh criticism is needed, especially when constructive. These guys needed to look at my profile to see where I was making mistakes. Since then several of my friends and clan mates have remarked on how improved my play is. My EU profile of course has all those beginner stats on, so getting that win rate up will be harder. I created an NA account, only 30 battles in and the protected match making worked to my advantage for sure, but I've been playing british cruisers, something i'm not used too and look at the stats I have! https://worldofwarships.com/en/community/accounts/1035957253-Natastrophe/!/pvp/overview/ Onward and upwards I say, but please dont give criticism to the replys, especially from Drasnighta as they were only trying to help! I certainly didnt agree with all the comments and criticisms, but after reading and digesting many of them, my game play has improved. I still make mistakes, for sure, but my win rate is creeping up.
