Moin and greetings from Germany,

every Nation has a lot of special captains and a second flag on their ships. I would like to see a second flag on all german ships and captains like "Erich Topp" - a famous submarine commander in wows.

When the thread starts with a statement that is false bad things will follow.

Every nation in the game does not have a lot of special captains or a second flag. Of the nations with their own tech trees, the Germans don't, the French don't, and Pan-Asians don't. French will probably get theirs with the release of their destroyer line. Germans are now the oldest nation in the game without their second flag.

Exactly - the word 'every' has been misused here.

Mind you it's funny that the Russians gained the ability to have a second flag before the Germans - even though the German tech tree (BBs, CAs and DDs) was in place a long time ago.

Even though it is not a second flag, you can get a Prussian flag in game. If you want to see something more realistic you can always make use of a mod. It is easy to make a mod that changes some flags into "Admiral of the Fleet" flags for the USA, Great Britain, France, the USSR, Japan and Germany for example. Admiral of the Fleet is typically the highest naval rank in most navies and practically all navies allow Admiral ranks to fly a flag on their ship that indicates their rank and presence aboard a warship. Making a mod that changes Commanders into historical ones is also doable. If you cannot do the artwork yourself then there is always the game "Hearts of Iron 4" that has some colour drawings of historic German Naval Officers that you could use in WOWS.

I proposed it a long time ago in the suggestions topic on this forum, to add "Admiral of the Fleet" flags in WOWS that are automatically flown on a ship that has a level 19 Commander. But alas I do not see WOWS implementing that any time soon.

If you look at WOWS legends (on Xbox ONE and PS4) you will see that they have a historical WWI era German Admiral scheduled as a legendary commander. Since the art work is already done for him you can expect some special event relating to that German Commander in WOWS on the PC at one point in time. If they introduce something like that it will likely be either in time for GAMESCOM in Köln or for "Weihnachten" in December. WOWS always releases something German during that time frame, like that new German Battlecruiser that is in development currently for example.

Heard of good old fashioned Russian ingenuity? Surely the best ships in the world need to have the very bestest flags too? :Smile_trollface:

While there might not be any Legendary Commanders for the Germans, there are only Legendary Commanders for the major fleets of the Second World War, the United States Navy, the Imperial Japanese Navy and of course the greatest of them all, the Navy of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

There are many commanders that OUGHT to be in the game, but I guess that they don't go down with WGs home crowd as far as much as some fantasies.

However the OP seems to have overlooked the special commanders available:-

I think WG has something against the Kriegsmarine/IGN, because they handed the Russians their @ss during the initial stages of Operation Barbarossa as well during WW1.

Russians got steamrolled before allied intervention changed their plight in both wars, so the Russians are just salty and as such make the German ships and anything to do with the German Navy mediocre.

@1MajorKoenig Agree?
