So, AFT.....secondary skill meme or is it just me?

I feel this skill has been rendered completely useless with the new rework or is it just me?

For me when I have to choose, I go for BFT as long as it isn't a secondary meme ship.

I actually miss the old days of AFT, cause I like a little more reach on my secondaries, but not at the cost of the DPS of the BFT.

Anyone else feel this? Or is it just me?

And before u ask what I'm smoking for bringing this up....4 beers after having the house full of relatives cause of son 8 day birthday, and I got some downtime in my head.

Guess you need to relax a bit and sober up... as AFT still improves range of secondaries by 20%.

Regarding AA, range is no longer improved by AFT, so manual AA is now actually considered "better" AA skill for 4 points.

Yes, but in the past u got range on AA and secondaries.

I've never used manually anything.

It still improves AA, not by much, but it stll counts.

And many ships with small guns love the extra range....

But if u have to choose between BFT or AFT you'd go BFT right? ( CA/CL or BB)

In the past I'd go AFT on cruisers and BBs. Today I go BFT on both of them if I have to choose(exept secondary meme ships).

DDs comes down to wich type of DD it is.

When I take such skills, I take BFT (unless secondary setup).

In the past I went almost exclusivly AFT. Things change.

is it right to conclude that BFT is now considered the minimum requirement regarding anti cv protection for any BB (Atleast the ones that have some AA to start with)? Like unwilling to spent into manual aa and AFT and specific aa modules can I get away with only BFT and still feel that i am not only a xp pinata for cv’s? 

 

And what about cruisers (only regarding the aa buff) and BFT?

It's one of the keys to make an extra light cruiser out of a Kiev.

 

The others are no CE, no smoke, and Ovechkin.

BFT alone does not make a huge difference.

If you are a pinata without it, then you are a pinata with it.

BFT is a waste of points on anything except DDs (with high shell velocity) for me. Actually the whole AA build is, as AA is still too RNG/magic. I would only consider taking MAA on some BB/CL/CA ships, but not even that... Even the full sec build (BFT, AFT, MSEC) is questionable, since you miss out on survivability. I feel the tank build is still the way togo.

 

But I might be wrong...

For AA, the best skill for 4 points now is BFT + Extra Fighter.
